    Yah…similar.

I wouldn’t have the shock in because it requires more effort, but why not… Bumps and driving should work out the mount and the shock into the right spot when you get it…

    No dice.

I'm 90% sure that black washer welded on the ADS shock, is interfering with the trucks lower shock mount "ears". I gave her a good hit with a dead blow and made a mark on the black washer to see exactly where im contacting...

I'm thinking I have two options..

    Whats your opinion..

And thank you for so far for debating with me.. I love this community.

Switch the shocks side to side. See if that one interferes with the other side and vise versa.

Sorry, that one took a bit.. Just swapped them, no dice, exact same angle.

I'm thinking Mr. Die Grinder is coming out.

This is my Driver side, you can see that black welded washer, next to those ears is super close as well. Is yours that close? I can't even come close to fitting a credit card in there.

Seems to be the shock bracket, not the ADS shock. When I swapped sides, the only effected side was the passenger again. I ended up just using a die grinder and putting some por15 on it. I'll cosmoline it when i wrap up the job. I don't mind grinding, but makes me think something is skewed or crooked with my setup.

Yeah I tried that, I tried adjusting the pinion angles… nothing worked. Mr grinder made short work of it, only had to remove 1/16 of that ear

It’s 2022 and my suspension identifies as icon?

Got the whole set up in, extended brake lines, ecgs bearing, bump stops, icon rxt and the ads setup, I absolutely love it… super bummer though, my rear adjuster just unscrews and shoots oil out…….. it has no stops.

bummer on the stops missing in that rear resi…very surprised. As for the Icon shock covers…is that something you keep on while you drive,…or just for offroading? Seems I’m behind on what these do. I kinda want some tho after my next rebuild

Is a bummer, hopefully ADS can help me sort it out, it leaked quite a bit of oil on my garage floor so i'm assuming it needs a rebuild?

On a side note, i can't believe how well these ride right out of the box, I was worried at 650lb and no weight on front it was going to be stiff ride. I wouldn't change a thing..

The Icon Cover is for the winter, it feels like the material wet suits are made of, help keeps salt and junk out. I kept them on for the install so I didn't scratch the hell out of the shocks. They are removed now, and i'll put back on in the winter.

This is a very specific question so bear with me…
My extended 700lb coilovers are arriving this week (if everything goes as planned) and I am aiming to get 2.5”-3.0” of lift on my 3rd gen. My truck currently has a bumper, winch, skids and sliders. I am wondering if I will need to adjust the preload of the coilovers from how they come from ADS to obtain this.

Just wanting people’s insight/opinions on whether I should adjust preload before installing on the truck? Ideally I would like to only install them once, but I know that is pretty optimistic. Appreciate any and all input. Thanks!

You'll probably need to crank them down about an inch or so

I would install them, then adjust. I didn't have any issues adjusting mine after install. I used a punch from Harbor Freight and some WD-40 on the threads.

You absolutely will need to crank them down so make sure you grab the tools from ADS to adjust them as well - they fit the holes and do not mark up the collars at all.

Like others have said, install first then see where you need to be. They are easy to adjust on the vehicle. The tools work great with the suspension unloaded (front end jacked up), add a pipe extension over the tool if needed to get more leverage.

FYI my 2.5" 650's with no extra weight on the truck needed to be at 21 threads driver / 17 threads passenger to get ~2" of lift. Out of the box I only got about 3/4" lift. Hoping I can lower this a bit once my RXT's finish settling.

Really appreciate all the feedback! I’m glad to hear adjustment is doable after install with the proper tools, I was under the impression I would have to completely take them off again. I’ll go ahead with the install and adjust accordingly once I get the tools for it. Super stoked to get these put on!
