    Going in tomorrow :)
I want 2.25-2.5”. What do you think to crank to for this setup (sliders too)? 130lbs winch and bumper.

With the winch and all it is probably closer to 2" preload, but I have limited experience and I am pulling that number from the air with a little bit of an educated guess. I have the 700lb springs also, and with no armor I am at 1" preload for 2" lift. It is super easy to adjust the preload on the truck but not recommended by vendors and I cant be held responsible for peoples safety ;) I sprayed some wd40 on the threads above and below the collar and used a 5/16" pin punch, a 5/8" extended socket over the punch with an extension on the socket to add leverage. Was not too difficult, remember to have the wheels off the ground so that the weight is off of the coils.

Thanks. I’m going to measure from where they are now and then adjust them after measurement at the shop. I was thinking 1.5” of preload to start. I also have the 700lb springs.

Btw...how is the highway drive on them?

I left the sway bar off and its been pretty good. I am at the "10" setting right now and it feels good. I will wait and see if I want to adjust the clickers. The suspensions soaks up imperfections in the road and bumps/dips. I hit a few train track crossings in the street to see how it felt and it soaked it up. I can not wait to test them off road. You can tell there is a little more body roll with the sway bar off but not enough for me to be the least bit concerned.

Did you ever get these puppies installed? If you did what was the lift height with the pre-set preload

The factory preload of 1/2" had me at ~1" lift, I took the preload to 1" and am at ~2" lift.

Left the tires on, sprayed wd40 on the threads above and below the collar, loosed the collar, then used a 5/16 pin punch to adjust the preload. I slid a 5/8 socket over the end of the punch and put an extension on the socket for leverage. Of course, I had the wheels off the ground with the truck frame on jack stands and the wheels hanging. It was pretty easy to adjust.

Nah, at first I tried it without wd40 wince I couldnt find mine and I ended up bending my punch. I then bought wd40 and it was easy. I sprayed all around the collar and let it sit a few minutes then started turning. I am not a big guy 5'11" 145lbs and could turn it pretty easily with that method. I went to 1" preload using this method.

Ok, got the shocks on, but I am sitting at 1.75” lift with 1.125” preload (bumper and winch at 130lbs) and hoping to go another 0.5”

I will obviously need another alignment after I do this, but they ride nice for now. Fender sits from center of hub at 22.75”

    Still running the OME rears

Do you think 1.5” of preload will be too much? It is noticeably smoother driving than my OME 90021’s with 2888 springs.

The turning radius seems tighter on the truck now from getting the alignment. +2 on caster. I could crank the steering wheel and the wall of the tire is very close to hitting the resi hoses

Yah I’m going to change to 255/75/17 in the future. Should work right (32”)?

So I have had enough with my OME setup up front and looking to see what other 1st gen guys are running. I have SPC control arms and was wondering if I can use the extended travel shocks with those. Is there any ADS dealers up in Canada? Thanks. This is the truck they'd be going on

Anyone on here with 2" lift and hd dakars have to shim the rear axle? I have a vibration under 25mph, most prominent when slowing down that I am pretty sure is from my driveshaft angles. Im gonna get a digital angle finder and see but pretty sure i have to shim.

    Absolutely. 3 degree shims.

Getting the ECGS bushing is a must to replace the Shiite driver side CV needle bearing
