    Got a lot of stuff lol
    I suggest looking over the original thread that many people have used

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cheap-mod-diy-aux-input-in-a-2005-2008-factory-head-unit.161339/

    I ran into some issues such as the CD and the aux input competing and stopping my Galaxy from playing music. I also decided to add a few functions such as

    * Volume control
    * Pause/Play
    * Phone calls / Voice command (Still working on it)

    Here are some tools/Supplies you need
    *A quality 3.5mm Panel Mount Stereo Jack - 4 Conductor (TRRS) ($6)
    *Wire
    *Soldering Iron
    *Multi meter (For continuity)
    *Razor Knife

    A Few other things if you want audio controls
    * 220 ohm resistor
    * 600 ohm resistor
    * Two way temporary rocker switch helps too

    Now this not an easy project nor is it too hard but you'll have to take your time and use the multi meter to test continuity a lot :D

    So here is a rough drawing of how the ribbon cable tap works. To stop the CD L/R signal I attach a switch on the ribbon cable. I used a razor to scratch off some of the ribbon cable to allow soldering.

    The auxiliary is taped into the radio skipping the ribbon cable.

    Now here's a bunch of photos

    For wiring the audio controls here is a schematic

    and another photo

    Here is a layout of how the operation works
    The entire time the CD player is on in the radio and there has to be a CD in the player.

    CD Mode
    To play the CD nothing is plugged in the aux port or aux cable and the signal switch is turned on.

    AUX Mode
    Turn the signal switch off and plug in your aux input

    At this point I also have added another cable that splits off the aux jacks L/R signal and it runs to an amplifier for a 10'' sub. The sub will only work with the auxiliary input and the CD player.

    To run volume I adjust the Sub and the radio separately then to control the overall volume I just use the rocket switch which controls the volume on the phone.

    I did this project a little while ago and have had no issues. I cant express how nice it is to have a rocker switch for volume and to not have the CD interfere with the aux input.

    If you guys have any questions Ill try my best to answer them and when I get a chance Ill post a few photos of the end result install.

    I also have a Bluetooth module in the mail so hopefully soon I will add that in as well.
