What's up Taco lovers! Had a quick question here. I know how easy it is for people to still jack your wheels, with wheel locks. There is this new brand apparently that looks interesting. Does anyone have any experience with this new company's wheel locks?!

If I do go down this route, I would carry an extra key in the car, just to hit on that point where people say "what if you get stuck outside with no key?" I already feel the tension in this forum about to boil while typing this thread lol.

    anyways, thoughts?

Did you order these? How do you like them? Aftermarket wheels or OEM?

Ha. Nice! Make sure you pop off the side bed rails and silicone those gaps. I also popped off the front rail and put a bead of silicone under it. Keeps everything dry

They claim they've tested them with impacts capable of 700ft/lbs of torque.
Seems to be some high strength quality material

I don’t bother with wheel locks because any of them can be defeated in about 5 seconds and these don’t look any different. They’re not worth the money or hassle.

Look it up on YouTube, tons of videos on how to do it. Take a socket, give it a few taps with a hammer, then you can screw the wheel lock right off. Sure you ruin a socket but wheel thieves don’t care about that.

I would recommend checking out the videos on these.
Can't tap a socket on. Gator grip and even wheel lock removal sockets couldn't get it off

the attempts in the video on the website are comically pathetic. You really think a thief is gonna be that gentle? Plus with the socket trick they “tried” it with a hardened impact socket. You’re supposed to use a normal socket so it deforms around the lug when you hammer it.

I don’t buy it but whatever helps you sleep at night. I can think of better things to spend $110 on.

I don't see how any socket could grab onto it, but I'm looking for at least a deterrent or something to try and slow them down.
If they still get stolen, at least I tried and lesson learned.
    I've wasted $100 on worse

20 years ago I was the guy buying complete sets of the McGuard locking lug nuts. Now the first thing I do on a new vehicle remove the wheel locks if equipped and throw them away. I’d rather save that $110 towards my $200 comprehensive deductible in the rare event the wheels get stolen. The wheel locks are a hassle at every service, and I’ve seen plenty of guys helpless on the trail because they lost the key then got a flat.
