TRD sport coils. Which I get are stiffer than sr5/OR coils. But still for a few bucks more and much better lift can be had. I just feel bad for people who are told the 5100s set at.....are the ultimate way to lift these trucks, especially after spending the money and time installing them and getting an alignment.

    They're the cheap way.

Never heard them being the best. The only reason anybody cares about them is because for $150 they get 3 different lifts, up to 2.5 inches.

For what it's worth, for me I noticed no change in the quality of my ride with my 5100s set to 0" and OME 881s. If anything, it's a better quality ride than the stock setup was up front. The rear is a different story, it's much stiffer back there now with the HS 3 leaf AALs and overload leaf retained. But that was expected.

I am SUPER happy with my bilstein 5100s. Would definitely recommend. They are even set at 1.75

i guess you could say then it's the best lift you can get for the money. mine is deffinately better than stock. some of us don't have such deep pockets as to freely spend 12-1500 on a set of coilovers especially for trucks that'll see 90% of their time on the road not trails. for those who have those means i'm truly happy for you and i'm sure it's well deserved for me this was the best bang for my buck

I was a little worried about how the 5100s would do offroad as I typically go out every weekend, but I've been really happy with them. They definitely aren't Kings so you can't drive like a madman, but they get the job done and for a really affordable price. I do have an annoying driver's side "clunk" though when I go over some bumps and dips, it's not the shock bottoming out because they bumps aren't that severe. Other than it being a little annoying, it doesn't hinder performance at all.

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend 5100s with OME coils to anyone looking for an inexpensive, better-than-stock quality suspension setup.

They're actually identical to regular blue and yellow Bilstein 4600 HDs.

The only difference is they allow for coil preload. :anonymous:

Nuh uh, the 5100s are shiny and silver. That adds 10hp

Some level of truth to that.

Also don't shoot the messenger, but 4600 HDs are a better shock for towing and load handling, and in most forums for other trucks (like Silverado's and other full sizes) 5100s are generally considered to be shite.

Well, 10hp per shock, so 40 total! You're close.

I have more miles on 5100s at .85 and 1.75 with stock coils and a cheap 3 leaf AAL than your truck has in entirety, so be mindful of your accusations.

I'm not shitting on anything or anybody, I'm stating facts. I bought mine for the same reason everybody does, and when my significantly more expensive OME shocks are due for replacement, I'll likely go back to 5100s in the front.

So, relax. There are people here who speak from experience and don't lean to any side in regards to brands.

I couldn't give a fuck less, but what I said is still what I said because it's the truth, not because I'm trying to look smart or better.

Putting in my order on headstrong right now and it says they are currently out of the 3 Leaf aal. Only other option is the Deaver aal. Anyone have experience with it and how much lift will it provide. I'm not looking for a ton of rear lift.

    Say's it'll add 1.5-2"

Here's my truck with a 2" AAL. I think it provides a good amount of lift. Not the best pic but you get the idea.

    Unlikely.

Did you measure before and after?

All of the 3 leaf AALs are manufacturer by Deaver and are 1.5" lift. The extra 1/2" some get is when they keep the factory overload leaf intact, and then that extra lift is solely from the exact thickness of that leaf (approx 1/2 inch).

If you got more, you didn't measure.
