Icon makes a 3 leaf AAL too if I'm not mistaken.

ok assuming i'm not an idiot truck sat leavel with a 2" block in the rear. block removed aal installed with the overload retained and measured 1 1/2" higher than with the 2" block. truck is measured before and after any suspension change if for nothing more than curiosity. to be honest it actually gave me more like 3 so those are real numbers sorry if it disputes what it's supposed to do i was a little confused as to why it raised it so much but it works and wasn't concerned

    Icon/HeadStrong/ToyTec/Wheeler's/etc.

Every 3 leaf AAL is made by Deaver Springs and then the above companies label them under their own entity and sell them for whatever price they can.

Icon is the most expensive, HeadStrong the least - but they're the exact same spring packs, built by Deaver to the same specs.

I learned something new today, interesting...sounds like it's best to try and score it through Headstrong in that case.

Went to Wheeler's for my first lift. Couldn't get any kind of customer service for my second lift.

HeadStrong saved me $300 over Wheeler's and I had to pay sales tax since we're both in CA.

For under $500, 5100s front and rear and a 3 leaf AAL is a great setup.

On that note, if you use your truck as a truck or carry a constant load (like a shell), go with a single leaf AAL.

If you're mostly unloaded (not carrying heavy loads constantly/regularly) the 3 leaf is awesome, and will ride better when unloaded.

The instructions for install all say remove the factory overload spring - if you do, you'll see a 10% loss in weight capacity.

Keep it in for no loss of strength and an additional 1/2" of lift.

Wheelers doesn't tell you what shipping costs until after you've submitted payment.

You find out your out the door total when you receive your invoice, which really sucks since their shipping is more than the other vendors charge.

    HeadStrong FTW.

    I don't have a clue.

Even the smallest trucks (reg cab) don't get anywhere near that.

It's designed to be 1.5", I wish I still had one accessible. Pretty sure it doesn't provide any lift outside of the actual thickness of the additional leafs.

it made no sense to me either but it's actual. the 2" block gave me assumeably 2" in the rear. when i installed that initially i did not measure. i did measure before removing the block and remeasured after installing the aal and it was 1 1/2 inches higher than it had been with the block. then i removed the strut spacer and installed 5100's with eibach 112620 coils. at 0 they only provided 1.5" of lift. i removed, broke them down and moved the clip to the .85 setting. reinstalled and ended up with 2.5" lift in the front now the rear is 2" higher

Only thing I could think of that might make sense of that is if your OEM leaf pack was sagging an additional 3/4-1" under stock height (when new). Even then, not sure what difference the AALs would make compared to a sagged pack and a new pack.. :notsure:

    But something is up. ;)

It isn't totally uncommon for people to get more lift from a spring, whether leaf spring or coil spring, then what is spec'd out. I believe a great deal of that is due to the factory suspension being worn down. I have 1st gen customers who put the OME Dakar pack on and see 5"+ of lift.

thanks i was just figuring the truck is only a couple of years old and the springs maybe hadn't sagged much yet so maybe that contributed. either way it works. i guess if i was worried about it sitting more level i could remove the factory overload spring but it works. i really need tires
