What is the overall advantage of the OVtune? there are several mechanical things I do not like about my 2018 TRD Sport V6 auto.

it fixes all the shoddy programming Toyota did with the ECUs in this truck primarily poor ignition, idle, low end power, shifting among others. Worth every penny IMO

    Too much.
I just flashed this afternoon during my lunch break from my tablet. I will say this:

I had a 2007 Audi A4. I flashed unitronic stage 1, which was billed as a 45 hp increase. I felt the difference, but it was nominal, because there was no change in transmission. It was awesome, but lacking. So I did everything required for stage 2 (intake/test tube) and had it done. Then I felt a real difference.

That said, with the OVTune, I felt the change right away. Driveability on just the 87 tune is completely different.

Now, I'm not a hype guy, and need 2 months to fully play with the 91 tune and the 93 tune. But 4 the money, 4 tune files, lifetime updates, and custom tuning included, where else do you find that? Every time I wanted a new tune or flash back to stock with unitronic, it was $125 (I don't know if it's the same now though)....

Thank you for the input! Does the OVTune void my factory warranty? I bought my truck new 4 months ago. Installed a leveling kit and 33’s and thought that might have been the cause of the shifting and throttle response issues but I am think the OVTune is a must but want to keep my factory warranty.

You get 4 files, one of them reverts the truck to stock.

So all I have to do is return it to stock before I take it in for a scheduled maintenance or warranty work? The ecu won’t have memory of the time. I am used to Duramax diesels as that’s what I have owned for the past 10 years and had tuners on both and they were traceable to the factory service machines. I have owned several Toyota’s as second drivers for work and wheeling but this is my first new purchase because I wanted to downsize.

Sorry for the typo, memory of the tune being ran in the ecu prior to returning to stock.

All they can really tell is when the last time DTC was reset (what happens when you disconnect the battery). If it’s concerning at all (it shouldn’t be), then just flash back to stock before going in for service. With the hundreds and hundreds of OVT tuned trucks now (probably over a thousand now??), there have been no reports of any dealer refusing warranty work or even detecting it.

I’ve been tuned for a while (1yr+), it’s what made me want to keep my truck as opposed to finding something to trade it in for. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I have lots of questions for you:

    A. Have you conducted a search on TW for OVtune?
    B. Have you reviewed the various threads already present?
    C. Have you looked at OVtune's web site?

Here's some background reading for you: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-toyota-tacoma-v6-ecu-tuning-alpha-release.495735/

Man I loved that car. If I still had it, it would be my son's later this year.

Don't get me wrong, the OVTune is not like a turbo'd stage 2 tune, but you can tell the difference right away in drive-ability. This morning during my commute, it was holding 70 in 6th gear with zero issues, and great efficiency.

I'm the kind of guy to tune anything I get my hands on anyway, so I knew whatcha meant

Still got my B7, drive it to NYC and unfortjunfort, someone love tapped the front, so the rings and a bit holding it came off... Gotta love parallel parking there

Considering you praised it and drive auto, bet it's a blast w/manual :D

You can see how many Toyota trucks I have owned and I have not ever taken any of them for warranty work.

    It's complicated.
Anyone know if OVTune has current discount codes?

    Thanks.
