advantages eather or, local muffler shop or brand name premade???

    33" tires 1" block in rear revteck leveling kit front and a sented dolfin from my girl friend :)
    i have a guy form a local muffler shop who has done some exhause work for me on my 50 gmc truch and was really happy with how everything turned out... i was woundering what everyone thought about what to do get a custom system done with him or to get a brand name one from a manufacturer???

    lookin to see what everyone has done or what everyone thinking....


    my plan is to do dt headers with something behind that lol
    but idk what to go with.

    For me, that'd be the over-all deciding factor.

    Versus - buying aftermarket & installing it myself

    lots
    all you really need is to change out the stock muffler. unless you go with a supercharger, then open up the ypipe later on. the factory exhaust is 2 3/8" and is mandrel bent, so you cant get much better than that.

    im thinking about using the stock pipe because like you said you cant get much better stripping all cats with doing headers and then mufflers past that, what do you think, should i leave the last 2 cats?

    yes!!! if you dont, it will be very very loud, unless you put in a muffler and resonator, even still its pronounced. And on top of that, youll lose a bit of low end torque with removing all that back pressure.
