Great build! How's the headroom? Considering building a similar platform but with a high-top lid.

I wish I had a high rise camper shell then it would be amazing. With the boards on the floor it is great, but with the wifeytobe I have to put them on the rails and I wish for more headroom. I can't sit up all the way when on the rails, but if I tuck my head I can.

Nice build out. What brand are those skirts you have between your shell and bed? I've been having issues with my shell leaking where it meets the bed and have had no luck sealing it.

Hey there. It is actually a drop in bed liner that covered the rails

Dude, you certainly have thought of so many things for this build. I just got a shell and am going to build the interior this winter, thank you for sharing the blue prints and the other ideals of yours you put to work. Your shell looks amazing and I can’t wait to start mine.

My setup really improved when i put a skybox on th roof. No more moving stuff from the cab to the bed and back to the cab. Extra clothes, cooking gear, fishing gear and other stuff that I only use once in a while goes up there and it makes for a less cluttered sleeping experience.

Id like to improve my setup a little and love that this one is easily removable like mine. I like the simple and easy setups, some folks get a little too deep then they can never use the truck for normal truck stuff. This is mine right now, great for solo trips but the full bed lined sleeping pad is pretty rad in yours. I might try and make a replica when i get some time.

Made some side ones, $10 at Home Depot
want to make more for front and rear window
    (shell)

    question,
Why paint? Going outside to paint means fumes, wind, overspray, getting on yourself

couple bucks black fabric from arts and crafts store, staple it on
or quick spray adhesive in a can, slap on the fabric, trim edges

IDK the height on the fabric, or if Michael's even has it in stock
But what is in stock, similarly priced, already has adhesive and is black?
Duct tape. Is what I'm thinking of using. Might add some rigidity and not come off.
IDK how much you can notice the details from outside, obviously the nicer it looks the better

because strips of duct tape placed horizontally (I imagine a roll or two will be needed at least)
you'll see a vertical seam mark on every strip
key point being shells come factory tinted at least 35%, more if you add 10% on top of that
35 being not enough to recject heat (not ceramic) nor privacy, but possibly enough to hide ugly duct tape seams on Reflectix

cheapest source I know on duct tape, walmart. Home Depot prices twice more

Windows obviously could use Reflectix. Easy enough to do and cheap. Annoying the labor time.
I can't help but wonder if the bed itself would benefit though, in a perfect world. Inside the tailgate, there is nothing. Bedsides, probably the same. Well, at least these are all multi-piece panels with an insulating air gap
whereas windows are just a pane of glass, no air gap
