    Thanks!

If by "just slide on" you mean essentially a press fit, then yes. I wailed on those things with a hammer that I borrowed (with some wood to protect the bearings/sleeve, and @mrs.turbodb holding them straight) to get them to slide down, and I'm probably never getting them off (which I think will be OK, but that's a whole 'nother story that I'll write up here soon). I was surprised myself at how tight they were, but CBI reassured me that it was by design.

Yeah, I was surprised too. I think it's so they can share it across their various bumpers, and it allows adjustability for different size tires - it's a neat design actually. And, strong enough with all the beefy hardware, I think.

Yeah, I know yours looks good - was just looking at Mike's a few days ago and mentioning how I love how close it is to the body - and with no cutting, which was a requirement for me.

Unfortunately for me, you're not in the business. I'm sure when you are, I'll be able to offload this one with no problem, hahahahaha!

    Nice job!
It’s so funny...not only did you install the bumper in their parking lot, but you also did a detailed write up of it.

That makes sense really. I'm sure it will be strong enough. I was thinking it give you options for different sized tires too.

Well..duh. pro shop with pro welders. I'm not a pro. Just a backyard hack that does okay.

Second..it was powder coated. You would never know if it was weld porn or not haha

And also..I wasn't really talking about the bumper I made so much as my elite bumper..haha.

Love that way of looking at it. I wish that every piece of armor on every truck got to experience that same ratio! Heck, even just on my truck. It's the getting out there that makes it all worth it!

I did sort of wonder if they'd known I was doing that, if they'd have been more amenable to it; it's pretty good advertising after all.

    Yes please. This. Somewhere amazing.

Aww, I don't mind him saying that. You just have to picture this with anything he says, and it's all good pretty quickly. lol

"Actually, my bumper is better than yours."

Ben's right - the construction of this bumper is top notch. Of course, at the same time, I'd take a strong weld over a good looking one any day - I don't really care what it looks like. I assume these welds are good looking and strong.

It's not like you need those lower rear fender pieces anyway now that yours are cracked haha. HC looks great on all gens, actually strike that, nothing looks great on a 3rd gen

It’s not about width it’s about rear clearance height for the second gen that’s why it’s high clearance and not a rear thinner bumper

IMO, cut fenders and high clearance bumpers on a 1st gen look ridiculous and are totally unnecessary. They do improve the looks and functionality of 2nd gens tho.
