Ok so.... I tried to resolder the temp/compass 510 for my friends Yo that i'm working on.. But, the 510 is gone!! Dealer wants us to buy the whole piece and i'm determined to save with another resistor.. I have searched through every thread I could find and the soldering is easy it's finding the resistor at this point..

Another think I was curious about is if anyone else has experienced the fan/temp control lights are blow as soon as I install them... At 7.00 a pop I was curious if there was something someone else has frequently seen...

For the temp/compass 510 resister just use one as close to 510 as you can get. Just read on this forum that another poster broke his and went to Radio Shack and bought a pack of 470 ohm resisters and it worked for him... I'd link you to it but I can't find the post... it's on here somewhere? You won't get the chip resister but it won't matter just solder the two ends to the two lead pads and you should be good to go.

I haven't had the fan/temp light problem but I can tell you that you have a short somewhere in the wiring and your bulb is acting like a fuse... duh, I know, I'm stating the obvious. Sounds like you're gonna have to trace the wiring. I'd start at the fuse box... good luck

thanks man!!! I'll hit up the radio shack tonight....

Yea, I figured it would be the needle in the haystack on that circuit... I'm hunting a diagram now... I was praying it would be a common problem...

Thanks a ton for your help man!!

Actually, you can put a 500 and 10 ohm resistor in series instead of just approximating and it will work perfectly.
