    2002 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 idle air control valve Dirty and causing problems.
    Clean it or replace with a good non Toy or OEM? Thank you.

    Same issues basically with 2.7l. CLeaning did not fully resolve but tried. Think it was a weak solenoid. Got an aftermarket IAC and was consistent but high idle 950 when it should be 700 at normal op temp. Vacuum hoses all replaced and other components that effect idle checked. Replaced with OEM IAC and fully resolved issue. 700rpm now. Search all you want, consensus is OEM IAC. Or buy both like I did and figure that out. My suspicion is aftermarket if dimensionally different, allows slighter more air or such. Different internal component, plastic bearing where OEM has a thermal type spring.

    Had the same issue on my dads 2.4L, and we pretty much went through the same thing as @THatt. Aftermarket resulted in inconsistent idle. OEM fixed our issue.
