For some of the rust repair on my van I used fiberglass. For rust repair on my daughter’s Subaru I used epoxy and steel. Both repairs were to older vehicles. The Subaru was sold. The van still looks good. Panel replacement is actually way easier, even though getting the gaps right can be frustrating. The base-clear system and custom color matched spray cans along with good primer and preparation makes it look more professional.

How do you know when my repair was done? I said my truck is a 2020. I did not say my repair was done in 2020. Either way, what difference does it make? I was simply giving more information about my damage repair experience.

Retired car painter here.Thats a pricy repair if done properly. Replace panel body work any areas affected. Blend color to adjacent panels etc. Clear coat etc.

Ouch that’s more than a fender… honestly I would take that to a professional shop to be repaired . Guaranteed a patch fix is not going to work for this much damage .

    Yeah.
    PDR can't fix that, LOL.

It doesn't sound like you are too concerned with color matching or perfection, just a reasonably straight fender. I'd buy a used fender that color -- BUT, that thing is bent pretty badly. The mounting points are likely moved from the original locations. It may take some hammering to get the underneath bits back in place so the replacement bolts on properly.

I found my receipt from my repair. If I understand it correctly, it cost $892 to replace and paint my right passenger fender. $590 for parts and 5.3 hours of labor at $58/hr. This was part of a larger job that cost a total of $7k.
