I am looking for trail and fishing advice for a Texan who will be visiting the San Juan's this coming weekend (Fri-Tues). My father have a plan to camp and hit up the alpine loop and some other passes that may be open and capable for my stock 17 TRDOR. I do have a SSO slimline with a winch installed, but hope not to need it and am running K02's for shoes.

I am looking for advice of what trails that are currently open that are cant miss for the San Juan Mountain area, and any good camping and fly fishing spots along the way. I just heard that Cinnamon pass had some severe mudslides so the whole loop may be out of the cards this year.

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated. If you are in the area and want to hit the trails, I am always open for company!

Cinnamon has some washouts and mudslides. Engineer, Corkscrew, Hurricane, California and Ophir are open. Flyfishing is better in the lakes now are streams are mostly dis-colored.
