    Greetings,

I've been in discussion with a guy about an 06 4x4 TRD access cab (v6, manual w/ 166k). He's asking $13,300, which is a decent deal, even if it is 500 miles away!

The catch is that when I contacted him he said it's currently in the shop- not a great start. I said I may still be interested and he gave me the lengthy recent work done: new transmission (OEM), clutch, radiator, thermostat, and now it is at a mechanic getting the head gasket fixed! All of this has happened since February. So, my question is: should I run or buy? In theory, the truck should run forever after all this work is done, but I have an incredible knack for finding lemons. It's not my dream truck as I would greatly prefer a double cab, but I'm in the NW and Tacomas go for a premium- I've been looking all over the country. Thanks all!

some of this, a little of that
I would pass personally, that is a lot of work that has been done and how is the frame on it? For me that is just too many big ticket items, I would question how hard that poor truck has been driven in it's life and what is next to fail. Good luck on your search.

    Keep looking-good luck--be patient-get what YOU WANT--these trucks last a LONG TIME.
With all those previous problems, someone that owned the truck did NOT take care of it!
