i could use some advice on some basic and useful tools to carry in my truck. I mostly use truck drive to work and back (mostly office job). Occasional trips to remote cell towers for servicing, diagnostics, debugging.

Too many to fit here now!
Good start. May want to add a few wrenches too.

I built mine up by keeping track of what I used every time I did any maintenance or repairs. If there was something I didn’t have, I’d get it added.

tape, stainless zip ties, normal zip ties and some butt splices all come in handy on occasion too

Add a pair of Vice Grips, some quality duct tape, and a 10, 12, and 14mm sockets. Oh, and a basic OBD code reader

Carry a bunch of different 10mm tools. You will lose them all.... best to have spares.

Pardon me, but I thought ratcheting socket wrenches came as 1/4”, 3/4” and 1/2” sizes?

Nope, they come in both. Standard (America) and metric (the rest of the world)

Ratchet wrench. Open on one end and ratcheting on the other. Can be straight, offset or hinged

take a look at his post again he said ratchet wrenches. There are wrenches that have a ratchet mechanism in the box end. I don’t believe he was talking about a ratchet and a replaceable socket set

Why would I steer you wrong? We have camped together and you didn't even bring a jacket or sweater into 30 degree weather. Lucky I had extra;)
What are you trying to do to your truck and you still working for the same place/thing?

Was going to make an inappropriate off topic post of a Fleshlight, however having a good flashlight actually might be a lifesaver in that kit.

One thing I always want first on a vehicle is tire repair which means a good plug kit and some kind of on-board air (compressor, N2 tank, etc.). The number 2 tool to have is a battery booster/charge bank. I've stuck with the Noco GB40 and been pleased.

After that, as stated, go with tools to fix the most likely issues or the issues you've dealt w/ in the past. At the least be able to replace a tire, battery, or belt and remove a driveshaft. Always make sure to have proper recovery points and recovery gear pertinent to your level of leaving the pavement.

Add a roll of duct tape. NEVER travel without it. Small accidents and other things arise in which you have to hold things together.

Beer or soup cans and baling wire for exhaust leaks, and a bar of soap to use as a temporary plug for gas tank leaks.

JK about cans, but the bar of soap works great- just whittle it into a plug, gas doesn’t dissolve it.
