Not sure I follow what you are saying. Could you clarify?

The gazelle tents are over close to 5 feet long when packed up. If you were to consider one, it's just something to keep in mind.

The one linked is also a 4 person tent. It's big enough for the two of you and the two dogs, but just barely. That why most people have been recommending 6 person tents.

I get what you're saying but most of the times I've been camping, I've only been in the tent for sleeping and maybe changing clothes. rarely am I standing around inside the tent for any extended period of time. usually, you're outside by the fire or cooking or just hanging out, if you're not out doing other activities.

unless a storm catches you, and then you're confined inside the tent for awhile - I've done that- and just sat in there playing cards.

If you buy a decent general purpose camping tent at rei, that will already be done. If you buy a really cheap tent at Walmart or a really specialized tent (Such as some mountaineering tents or center pole teepees) you might have to seal or waterproof.

This is a Kingdom 6. Nice tent. Half is screen room and has a vestibule. I used to use it freestanding, but then discovered it fit perfectly over the back. It's worth looking at.
