im going to look at an 03 trd. it has 67k miles and is in pretty good shape. they are asking 13k for it. is that fair? also, what are some of the things i should look for when i go to look at it?

OMG, Janster, you didn't say "SEARCH!!!!!!!!!" Are you ill? Should we call 911?:D

    So I will.

SEARCH! Seriously, this is a really common question. In the first gen forum, search for "price" and "pay," and you should find some pretty extensive discussions and comparisons that should help you.

I have also heard that NADA is the best source for pricing comps. KBB seems generally dodgy, and often underpriced by up to $2k (that was my experience in my market when I was looking a year ago). Someone on this site alleges that KBB is a scam to keep trade-in vlaues low to the dealers' advantage. I can neither confirm nor deny the factual nature of this claim.

With regard to this particular truck, we need more info to say anything meaningful. That price might be reasonabel dependignon a lot of factors.

    Dealer or private party?
    Cab
    Engine
    Transmisison
    2 or 4wd
    Color inside and out
Trim package (SR5, loaded with automatic everything?) I am not sure of all the trim combos myself, but I think there can be TRDs without cruise control, power window/mirrors, etc., but I could be wrong. I am sure someone will point that out shortly if I am.

    Good luck with the hunt.

i just bought my 03 v6 4x4 trd with 140k miles for $13k. but it's in excellent condition and has been very well maintained. condidion and maintenance matters much more than mileage on these trucks.
