Toyota Tacoma v-6 with tow pack
I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma v-6 4x4 with a tow pak cooling for engine and tranny.
I just bought a Keystone Travel Trailor weighing 5100 lbs. My truck manual states I can pull 6400 lbs. I have pulled the trailor and it did very very well except fuel wise but to be expected.
Still have folks telling me I am to heavy.
Anyone else have any experience and or feedback?

Welcome to TW! As in overloaded? You are within the factory spec.

5100 is dry weight. Load it up and hit a scale and see what it actually weighs. Also 6400 tow capacity doesn't account for passengers or other stuff loaded into the truck

Does the max weight of the trailer exceed the vehicle's tow rating? What's the tongue weight of the trailer? Are you running a weight distribution hitch?

6400 lbs doesn't mean you can tow that much, unless your the only 1 in the truck and nothing else.

Try going up hills with it? If you live in an area that is relatively flat (Florida) you may be able to get away with it.

To be honest, I think towing with this V6 pretty much sucks. I'm only towing about 3600 lbs and I already want a bigger truck.

Meh. I tow a travel trailer that is 4,500lbs dry and often overtake larger trucks on the passes. Use the right gear and don't be afraid to let the truck work.

Auto. I tow in 4th. A friend has towed my boat with his Dodge 1500 (hemi) and another friend with his F250 powerstroke. Yeah, I know it's comparing apples to watermelons, but the ease with which they each towed my boat, compared to how the Taco hates the hills... makes me want more truck.

You'll be fine I tow a trailer loaded up with my car tools and spare tires 5400lbs.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Amazes me the amount of people on here who have to justify their Tacoma's. I'll be the first to admit they suck at towing compared to a full size rig.
