I'm looking at outdoor canopies - something to put my camp 'kitchen' under when the outdoors get rough, something to maybe shelter me from the sun if I'm working on the truck, whatever. I'm currently thinking about this one from Costco. Having the optional side walls intrigues me as an added bonus to stop wind and rain.

Are they pretty much all the same, is there a better one out there? What y'all think about that size?

EZ-UP and Quik Shade are probably the two best brands, they both have or have had slanted and straight legs and walls available as well as mesh walls for bugs. I have had both brands with straight and slanted legs and with walls. I would buy either brand as long as it had the steel legs vs the aluminum ones, even with steel legs I have destroyed them. Make sure and get some really beefy stakes, especially if you have walls installed. The wind will pull most stakes out with walls and quickly fold one up like a pretzel, ask me how I know.

Also keep in mind if they are the angled legs your advertised size is normally not your shade size, the footprint is normally the size advertised. I think the angled legs are a bit stronger but make it more difficult to put up against the side of a vehicle for rain etc.

I finally gave up on the good ones and just bought a Harbor Freight one for like $70, it came with a few small holes in the canopy but will work fine for now, no walls either, I just zip tie a tarp on 2 sides.

If I were buying again I would just scour CL for awhile and pick one up, there is normally someone who sells one after giving up on farmers markets etc.
