Yea understandable. Whats your opinion on slapping bondo on it then bedliner?

It will probably look worse. Bondo is not designed to be thick and tends to crack off if its too thick. The main issue your going to run into it the body line right under the door, that being pushed up will be a dead giveaway that its been hit and repaired. If you just slap on some bondo, a potential buyer will see it and wonder what else was skimped on.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Ouch bro.. go buy a nice set of sliders. Lesson learned. I'm a big fan of not pulling dents. Let your truck age.

    20220722_193949.jpg

You clearly were exceeding your tacos ground clearance. I'd look at finishing all your plates as well. A-ARMS, transmission, transfer case and rear diff...

Your truck will thank you later

Rock sliders are not step bars. They attach to the frame, and force the impact out and away from the truck (if you didn't know). You can pick up either one of my trucks by the slider using a forklift. That's how strong they are. But you only need them in Rocky terrain, otherwise they are just weigh.

This is not a driveway repair. Either fix it right or sell it "as is" with a discount for the repair. Dont slap bondo/bed liner or anything else on it and then pass it on to someone else.

Seconded. Do it right or not at all. Man up and be honest.

Don't try to hide it and unload it. Cripes, that's a sleaze-dick thing to do.

    Not you.

I was referring to the "slather it in Bondo and paint, and move it out the door" post.

I have every intention of disclosing it, I just wanted it to look presentable without having to shell out thousands of dollars.

Fix it right the 1st time. I bet a good body shop can do it for $600 to $800 which is cheaper than sliders and the next guy will thank you. Do cheap out, fix it!

Cheapest quote I got was $1600 without painting it. I might just turn it into my insurance and have them deal with it since I have full coverage

You need to find a good body man who will do it on the side, they are out there so shop around. I have had many of years getting spot jobs done on hundreds of cars. That's not a $1600 job, maybe a grand at most.

I could but my deductible is only $500 and it'll get it looking like-new. I'm going to keep looking and get some advice from my mechanic savvy friends on where to take it.

    Not even close.
As a matter of fact, the proper fix would be to cut it out and replace it. That will be way too stretched to heat shrink it back into shape.

And as an at fault accident, your insurance rates, discounts will be affected for 3-7 years. dont call the insurance company until it is the last and only resort. go on fb find a local body repair forum, and ask for help on the side, not through a shop. Ski
