I recently got into an accident and damaged my OEM running boards. Long story short, I kept them on because I have two kids that use them to get into the truck.

I now have the choice to get it replaced with something else. What is the best running board/sliders I can get that look great and is functionable? I like the look of some sliders, but are they any good for stepping up on? Or is more protection from rocks, etc.

A pair that are flat instead of tilted up would be good for steps. My 6 y/o uses my rock sliders as a step without any problems. Mine are tilted at 15 degrees upward.

I'm in the same boat. My 6 year old has to work like a dog to climb into the truck. I'm trying to decide what's best as well, and looking online in Canada. I was looking for sidesteps. Do they protect as well as sliders from the parking lot idiots?

I had the original OEM flat steps on my truck. It ran the whole side and it did protect my truck from shopping carts, door dings, etc. I just like the look of sliders better. I just want to make sure my kids can use it as a step too.

Koov, since you're in Seattle, check out BAMF. They make some very nice sliders.

Check out my pictures, I just installed them a few weeks ago and they are SOLID.

Adrian--what did you spray your sliders with? What kind of paint did you use?

JaxJim, I like those BAMF sliders too. Might be a bit too pricey for me. My main useage would be steps for my kids.
