    Appreciate the advice! I’ve been re convinced to go the swap route as I’ve already got a manual j shifter from an 02 taco and the front diff with same gears as mine. Just keeping my fingers crossed; i found a a340f out in Houston for about $600 w/ 160k miles. Hopefully it is still available this weekend bc i plan to go out there from Austin lol

    @YotaGangYotaGang

    Hmm so mechanically I’ve done the routine water pump/belt ofc soon as i got it, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, upper and lower plenum gaskets, all new belts, new radiator, carrier bearing, all new fluids from coolant to brakes to transmission, all new rust free balanced rotors and drums, all new suspension including leafs, bilstein 5100 all around w/ all dogs off-road springs, spc uppers, OEM LBJs, all other suspension related items are all moog. I’m sure for mechanical im missing more but that’s what i can recall right now.

    Cosmetically, the topper, new wheels/tires 285/75r16s, morimoto HID projectors w/ halos, ceramic tint all around, front and rear racks (rear one DIY’d it), updated TRD grille color matched. Interior Ive got all weather tech mats, new Atoto head unit w/ steering wheel remote and back up camera, ultragague OBD2 reader… think that’s it for the int/ext cosmetically. Probably more that I forgetting too lol.

    A buyer doesnt care about that tbh. The less you in the truck the better. Bells and whistles is dealer/factory add ons. Maintenance is expected.

    I feel like a dealer may not care but for a private sale i think it boosts value. It would be one think if the updates i did were like 22’ rims and subs (not knocking those who do that) but i feel like what I’ve added onto my truck are things most folks looking for these trucks want. Each to his own i guess

    Where you are at you should have no problem. Might take a bit to sell but list it for 14k. I live up North in SoDak and with values right now and the nada so high on these it's crazy the prices I see from here to Colorado on 1st gens. Then - if you list on FB marketplace and as they are a public forum in a lot of for sale groups there is always those huge d-bag types who have to say something. Some even have threats of violence for seeing for sale adds. Just the other day I saw a young kids selling a really nice jacked up Ford. Wheels, lift the whole shabang, Diesel with about 260K and asking 35K for this thing. Some dude from BFE was threatening to punch him in the face on a public forum for listing it for that price! lol

    I have tossed the idea around of selling my 1st gen because I would like to upgrade to a 2nd gen but the prices are astronomically high on those too. Shoot for a little more you could get a 3rd gen but I came to my senses and am keeping the 1st gen and gonna wait to buy a 2nd gen outright and have both! Good luck!

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    I wish you luck the fun part is going to be rounding up the little parts we all never give a thought about .

    The wiring that you now find none of the connectors are pinned the same

    Get your self the EWD for your vehicle and make the harness to match.

    The stock connectors for the transfer case position switches are:

    Transfer L4 Position Switch Connector: 90980-11156
    Transfer Neutral Position Switch Connector: 90980-10923
    Transfer 4WD Position Switch Connector (wo/2-4 Selector): 90980-11156 (same as L4)

    If you have a 2-4 case and need to replace the connector, it's -
    Transfer 4WD Position Switch Connector (w/2-4 Selector): 90980-11250
