I will drive my 2010 until it dies or I die. Maintenance items are maintenance items. I also feel comfortable knowing what the truck has been through so I’m always confident in my truck.

For sure! Things are kind of crazy with the holidays right now but there's always time for beer. HMU if you're ever in Monrovia or nearby

203k miles and have not done much to mine.
    Original plugs too.

Accident required the steering rack and wheel bearing to be replaced.

Never did diff or trams fluid changes. Runs strong and shifts great. 420 miles a tank still.

as @Jaypown suggested if you like the truck and it is paid off up keep it because it is certainly less than doing another bank payment every month. You can always do like I do when paid off just keep making the same amount or just a little less payments into a savings account then take money from that for the upkeep of the truck and improvements (also known as mods here) and in no time you will see that you have a sizable savings account that you can use to go buy a new truck with without a freaking Hugh loan... that is how I got my 2018 Trd Pro... Payments suck to have so I have none

Do you run the gas down to nothing? I've never gotten more than 300 miles to a tank, but I fill up asap once the gas light goes off, and there's usually 4 gallons or so left.

The older Tacos get the more beautiful they get. Oh how I lust for a 1st gen Tundra. If she's perfect keep her that way and you'll be happier down the road than a new pretty wife. That extra cash will find somewhere to go

The way I'd look at it is how much in payments would it be for a truck with similar specs? Say you get another double cab v6. Thats not cheap for trucks now a days. Would be around 40k here (canada) which is around 500/month. I cant imagine any repairs that would even put a dent on a payment like that, unless the tranny and motor blows (very very unlikely).

and even then... at 500/month.... a trans will be paid off at that rate in like 3 months (used trans, labor done by yourself)

I go 60 miles once it passes E. Usually 2-3 gallons left in tank.

If you don’t want a payment, drive it out. Brand new Tacoma drives suspiciously like a 2005 Tacoma or 2011 Tacoma.

Keep driving it! Only reason I got rid of my 2002 with 300k miles is because I wanted a 4 door. It ran great.

I guess he didn't like the responses that he got. Honesty burst his new truck bubble.
