I need to replace upper and lower ball joints on my 4x4 tacoma thats at 214,000 miles. I am thinking it is probably a good idea to replace the control arm bushings as well. I have already done sway bar links, hubs, and new bilstein 5100s. I have the 5100s set to max lift and was told by the alignment shop that they couldnt get the camber perfect because of it (expected). Now that I am replacing this, is it economical to just get a stock LCA and switch to a wider UCA? Any recommendations on parts? I am planning on riding this truck till the wheels fall off but I am not trying to spend more money than I have to to have a nice setup that will see some mild 4 wheeling. Also, how do I tell if my cam tabs are flattened/messed up?
    Thanks!

Before the 5100s I ran a crappy spacer lift that was at the same height, if that makes any difference

    Replacing lower control arm bushings…
Easier to go to college, become a brain surgeon, then pay someone else to do it.
Because - it - fucking- sucks.
That being said I jacked my truck up and you could easily see that the alignment tabs would move with the lower LCA, if this is the case prepare for more suck.
Also just look at your tabs, you’ll see if they are flattened/bent

Even more suck if the Cams are frozen stuck.
And don’t count on the alignment shop telling you they are stuck.
They don’t want to do them any more than you do, let lone weld new tabs.

weak aluminum for suspension that typically comes on performance cars for light weight seeing mild street use, designed to bend easily
the same metal made by recycling and melting down an empty Pepsi can

put on a 4x4 off road truck that came with steel, in an aftermarket scene where 99% of offerings are also steel but welded
    interesting concept

Yeah so.. Icon makes a billet UCA that is a very solid piece, that said its about 4 times as much as the RC ones. Not all aluminum is created equal.. Or you can choose to think of all the crushed up pepsi cans the next time you fly in an airplane anywhere..
