Rare bird buy it! Only put the 3.4 in a limited amount of single cabs.

Edit: 96 and 97 were the only years I believe.

Be perfect for a DD. As long as it's not beat up I think the 4K is a fair price considering you probably won't see another for awhile. I've only seen one for sale and two people posting about theirs on this forum.

Easily worth 6k assuming it's rust free and good shape mechanically

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I got $4,500 for my 97 standard cab 2.7, 5 speed 4wd with 170k on it. You could also take your finger and poke holes through the frame and the leaf spring mounts were toast and a deere ran into the bed and f'ed that up. Oh yeah the check engine light was on also. 4k seems pretty good!

Also my dad had it the last 6 years of ownership. Had I not been abroad my beloved little taco would still be pristine! Truck was perfect when I "stored it" at my dad's house. Still pisses me off...

Man sounds like you found a good deal. Check the forward leaf spring mounts really good. They like to rust there.

If everything checks out, jump on it! If you pass, please let me know. My parents live in the area so I'll just have to make another trip to visit them. Good luck man!

Yeah that's a smoking deal! Definitely get it if it's mechanically sound and rust free frame.

If it's a CA truck then it's almost guaranteed to be rust free, unless it spent time anywhere east or up north where it rains all the time (or on the beach). My '04 came from Arizona and the frame still looks like it was made yesterday.

Love the single cab Tacomas, and one with a v6 is a rare gem indeed...I'd jump on it at that price assuming everything checks out.

arguably the best v6 gasoline engine that Toyota has ever made...they'll run 300k+ miles easily with basic regular maintenance.

@1997tacomav6 has a regular cab 3.4l v6 with a supercharger and if I remember right he's got over 500k miles on it.
