I had a recent post about a leveling kit making the front of my Tacoma look too high. People suggest a 2” block and u joint kit for the rear. How many of y’all have done this and did it create any issues with the drive shaft or anything else? It’s my sons truck so I don’t want to do anything that might cause him issues. TIA

I would not run more than a 1” block in a Tacoma rear. People do run more.

I recently put the Westscotts Designs TRD Off-road 3 inch lift on the front and a 2 inch block lift on the rear. No issues so far. Fingers crossed .

    Welcome aboard :hattip:

Every truck is different so no answer will be a guarantee except leave it at stock geometry if you don’t potential issues.

Coming from a guy lifted 2.5” front and 3” in the rear and never really had issues.
My honest answer is, you/he should love the truck and with the options out there make it what you want. Read lots on here before buying and you’ll be as ready for issues as possible.

The bigger the rear block, the more axle wrap you will have. Depending on how you or your son drives / off-roads, you might or might not notice the difference.

Look into a Headstrong Progressive add-a-leaf. Gives you 1 1/2" of lift and much better than a block. Unloaded it isn't much different than stock, but fill the bed or put a decent size trailer behind you and it is great. I run empty most of the time and like it, but towing a 3500# boat it works great.
