    Ok quick back story.

-bought my truck with a magnaflow. Hated the sound and the drone.
-replaced with Dynomax Super Turbo(quietest muffler they make). Loved the sound but still droned a bit.
-added Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator. Fixed the drone but now it's just a little louder than stock.

Now to my point. I'm looking for a little louder sound without the drone. I have my eye on an Aero Turbine 2525. If I were to swap out the Dynomax for the Aero and leave the Vibrant Resonator would I get a louder sound? Basically I'm wondering if the resonator is killing all my volume before the muffler or if it's a combination of the resonator and muffler.

My other option would be to go with the Aero 2525XL which is the resonated version and ditch my current resonator. Anyone running this setup that can tell me if the 2525XL has any drone?
    Thanks!

My 2525xl doesn't drone hardly at all. I can hear it when cruising on the interstate, but no annoying noise filling the cab like my old exhaust. The only other system that I've experienced that doesn't drone is borla.

In your experience with the borla was that without a resonator? And I'm assuming you like the Aero better since your running it?

    stock, for now
The regular aero turbine dosen't drone. I'm personally glad i went with the unresonated one.

Do you have a sound vid of your current exhaust? I'm thinking about getting it but can't find a good vid.

I'm not sure on the resonator. Most borla systems have them. I can't afford a borla so I just welded up my own 2.5" exhaust with the aero turbine dumped before my axle. I also have headers and no cats so it's damn loud when I get on it.

I have a Borla drop-in on mine right now. I tried the TRD catback and a Magnaflow drop-in. Both had drone, IMO anyway. I don't like drone myself.

The Borla is better then the Magnaflow was, but still has a bit of reverb when accelerating and the engine is cold. It's the best aftermarket, of the ones I've had, but it's not perfectly without drone.

Thanks all for the replies. I may just take a shot with the Aero Turbine 2525.

If anyone has experience with the 2525 and the Vibrant Resonator I'd love to hear about it.

Just wanted to share my recent experience with the 2525xl.
I installed it this morning and wow! It was loud. But sounded great. Just way too loud for me.
Soo I went out and got a 18" resinator from a local muffler shop. 18" because they told me the 12 they had wouldnt tone it down that much. Soo went with the 18". If they had a 16 I wouldve gone with that. But im verry pleased with it. It mellowed it down just enough..
Very nice and quiet bellow 2k rpm.. but around 2k and up. Has a nice rumbley growl to it. Perfect tone with no buzz..

Looks like you did a nice neat job. :)
Can you post a video of how your exhaust sounds? It would be great to hear it.

I just have the 2525 and has virtually no drone. Cant even hear it running highway speeds.

I highly doubt that. Maybe my short tube headers make it alittle louder. But my 2525xl I could definitely hear cruising at 50-60 with music going to.

Now i cant hear it at highway speeds with the resonator.
The resonator also made it a deeper lower tone. Its great!

    Wow... that sounds AWESOME!
The added resonator really smoothes out the sound. It's a great idea. I've listened to other 2525's and they always had more of a ragged edge to them. Yours has none of that. :)

Thanks for explaining it better than me. Lol.
Smooth and deeper is exactly what it did. Also quietdd it down a bit. I think a 16" wouldve been good also.

I dont personally feel that the TRD catback drones, and only really has a loud tone when it is under a load, why not try a TRD catback?? I feel that they are reasonably priced too. Just my .02 :)
