I want to get an aero turbine muffler. But what model do I get? I have a 4.0 Tacoma. I've seen videos of the 2525 and others of just the "aero turbine". I'm new to trucks and have no idea what to get haha! Help would be appreciated!!

The 2525 represents the diameter of the piping on the in and out parts of the muffler.

Say you're exhaust piping was 3.0 in and 3.0 out of your stock muffler, you'd want the Aero3030.

But since you have stock exhaust, your piping is 2.5", so you'd want the Aeroturbine2525.

You can also get the Aeroturbine2525XL which has a resonator, which quiets down the exhaust a little, but helps to reduce "exhaust drone" at highway speeds.

if you "get on it" yeah they can be. but if you dont they arent bad. my brother-in-law asked be the other day if i had done somthing to my exhaust. i replied, yeah like a year ago.

i drive past their house multiple times a day but always slow since its residential. but this particular day i was giving it a little gas up the road.

if your foot is heavy itll be loud as shit accelerating, if your easy on it its not nearly as loud
    good info

    no tickets yet! (fingers crossed).

I have a couple buddies that live real close the spintech mufflers and they are just as loud, if not louder, and they've never gotten tickets. Cops here dont mess with trucks, too many ricers to keep them busy.

exhaust modifications or any sort, to any degree, and in any which way is strictly illegal in CA. Same goes for suspension, lights, engine modifications, etc. In CA, you are actually not allowed to mod a car at all. Strange for a state that is the center and mecca of car mods.

yeah, damn, never thought the law was that hard out there with the types of modded cars/trucks ive seen from there. only time ive seen or heard of an issue out here with exhaust really was when my buddy was running open race spec headers on a honda hatchback. and being too low

yea, straight through, no packing, but it has fins on the side that direct some of the exhaust thru to reduce excess noise.

I went to college in San Jose area and honestly the car scene is nothing compared to Socal/LA. I was at this meet last week:
    http://omg.yahoo.com/video/yahoonew...rs-crash-parking-lot-in-burbank-29510785.html

almost 2000 cars and the cops had to shut down the freeway off ramp

Well yea It's nothing like SoCal. But there are alot of kids that just want to show off ad the cops are all used to it and a loud truck probably won't catch their eyes or ears when there are stage 3+ S4's and 135i's

I have the 2525xl and I like it a lot. sounds sweet at start up, and its got a nice throaty rumble to it while cruisin thru town. I don't get too much drone on the highway, its actually relatively quiet while cruisin, but if you put the pedal to the floor, she lets you know she's back there! sounds wayyy better than stock IMO
