I can pretty much just remove the rear cats so i don't mess with the CEL and get a little more rasp...shouldn't affect the back pressure so much

You can do whatever you want... I am just telling you my experience with it. I originally just removed the rear cats. Having a straight through style muffler minus a set of cats will decrease your backpressure by a good bit. I'm just saying that my lack of power down low kinda sucks in the mountains around here.

If you turn it down before the axle, it will make the exhaust drone. If you do it after the axle, it will drone less. If you aim it out from under turf truck, similar but not limited to stock style, it will drone the very least, if any. Tips are for looks, unless they are designed to soften the exhaust noise more, or have some other impact on the exhaust.

Haven't really looked, but I haven't seen any for aluminum exhaust tubing, lately. ;)

Got it...I will just do the muffler, loud sound and smooth so it should be good. Better than my original option of flowmasters.

I don't know of anyone who has had both the 2525 and the 2525xl on the same truck. Check my two videos on youtube that I have where its non-resonated then where it is. The difference is marginal. Really it is. Resonated the sound is a little smoother, no resonater it is louder.

I've never heard one of these and can't go to YouTube at work. Can someone explain what one sounds like? I have a Flowmaster. Do they sound similar? Or can I assume because it has "aero" in the name it whistles like a turbo or jet engine when you start it?

It's a pretty unique sound. No they do not whistle, and they sound nothing like a Flowmaster. It's a fairly unique sound. Similar sound would come from Wicked Flows mufflers or even Dynomax. You'll have to look it up

closest i can describe how it differs from other mufflers is a nice rumble upon acceleration, sort of like a subie boxer rumble, but not as defined, and not as crisp.

have had Magnaflows, Wicked Flows (including Kamikaze) and flowmasters on this and my last truck, and the Aero is the best sounding muffler on these trucks period. Love mine! its the non resonated version but i like it loud, of course my opinion may change once i get headers

Judging by the fact thwt I have heard two identical setups, one without and one with, I am 90% positive that you will want the resonated one.

The guy that didn't have the resonated one, ended up installing a resonator later.

i got just the at2525, from my research i determined the at2525xl was not right for me. louder.

it does take a while to break in, however the 4.0l will sound better then my 3.4l.

I currently have a flowmaster 50 series and was looking to switch it out with the aero turbine exhaust. I think I want the non resonated version but dont want that high pitched rasp ive heard on some of the videos. Would a resonated exhaust tip do the trick or should I just get the XL version? I want that low rumble but dont want it to be too soft for my liking. How much louder is the non resonated vs resonated if you were to rate it using numbers?
