Aero turbine

Their is only restriction of flow if you put the muffler on backwards. Otherwise the Aero makes a low volume vacuum which is good cuz it pulls more air into the cylinder by pulling more exhaust out.

 

Any other instructions included with the muffler? Ebay one I bought from Mandrel Bending had nothing included in the box, not even invoice...

 

There should be an indicator of direction of exhaust flow on the muffler itself.

 

The indicator on the pipe is the two rings on one inlet side, this is the outlet of the the muffler.

I installed my 2525 on the stock pipe and chopped it behind the axle pointing at the ground. I don't have any drone, or not enough to bother me at all anyway, it sounds perfect IMO.

 

In this picture, if you look closely at the front of it, you can see the sticker that says,"Inlet".

I've got a 2525 areo muff and a AR25 resonator. I had the Ar25 welded in front of 2525, now i am running into the problem of will it fit per instructions. I've looked at the oe muff and there is a offset in front of the muffler and only like less than 6 in of strait pipe after the oe muff.

My question is: when i cut the oe muffler out and i cut the offset pipe off and add 12" of pipe to the outlet of the aero set. Will i need an offset to link the exhaust all back together? The other think that im over thinking is that will the muffler be to low and cause problem?

Oh well, its to hard for some one to visualize the problems that could occur. I just have to dig in and do it...
First i gotta find some time.. I spend a lot of time with my Boo, she's hard to get away from. especially because she's so horny..

 

i know this is random but is this true? i thought you need an o2 simulator no matter what cat you remove.

i have a first gen 3.4 and am curious because i want to take of my fm40 and the rear cat and run either a at 2525 or 14 inch magnaflow. is the magnaflow a single chamber exhaust? i know the fm 40 isnt ...

anyone running a setup like the one im interested in?

 

If a cat is after the O2 sensor, then no sensor is reading that cat. If a cat is before a senor, then it is getting read by the sensor. If you remove that cat, then you need an O2 simulator.

 

Alright well im running the Aero 2525XL (for u that dont know thats the one with the built in resonator) I have 2.5" pipe before and after the mufler and chopped off right after the axel with it turned down and a 4" aero exhaust tip. I have stock Y pipe with the cats but im running the DTLT headers which deletes my front cats. My exhaust has been on for about 8 months now. That being said my exhaust sounds deep it does drone a little bit right around 3,000rpm but thats it. And its not bad enough to bother me and I only had one person complain about it and that was my mother (she doesnt count, everthing bothers her lol). I had a flowmaster and a super turbo on my truck before and I def would take the Aero over them. I have no regrets and love the sound. Also there is a little rasp if u stomp it. Hope that answers questions.

 

Yes because removing cats can generate CEL's, however you DO NOT want to simulate the upstream o2 sensors as this sensor is used for determining the correct air/fuel ratio on the fly. The downstream sensor its strictly monitoring the emissions too determine that the cat is doing its job and is healthy.

The aero turbine is almost to the top of my list for future mods.

 

Sheesh. Had a weak moment today and ordered a 2525XT.
