I've requested more accurate info from Toyota, seems their documentation has errors in it, (what a surprise). We can figure this out ourselves, this is not insurmountable by any means. No one is going to pay for something and not get what we promised.

Since we've paid for this info I've requested (rather strongly) that we get updated and accurate updates. This is more important than some silly accelerator problems ;).

    Todd,

Thanks for trying to get to the bottom of the trans temp issue with the Interceptor gauge for my 05 Tacoma Pre-Runner 4.0 V-6 1GR-FE engine

I do know this...The 4x4 Tacoma's with the 1GR-FE engine have a factory trans temp light up in the tacometer cluster for reading trans temps

My 05 tacoma Pre-Runner with 1GR-FE engine wich is only 2WD Does Not have the trans temp dummy light up on the tacometer cluster. For some reason toyota only put the trans dummy light on the 4x4 trucks

Makes no sense to me but I thought it would be good to pont this out to you. But i'm sure that it should still be possible to read trans temps through my OBD adapter on my tacoma

Thanks again for any help in getting my trans temps to read on my new Interceptor gauge!

Can you tell me if the transmission temp is an issue with the '05 TRD 4x4 manual transmission? I was about to order but now holding back until this can be confirmed.

I am still waiting to hear from Toyota, as I think I've said their documents indicate the the 2005 4.0L motor through 2008 are all the same as far as the transmission temperature parameter i.d.'s are concerning. I made an initial assumption that the 2009+ were also the same, which is incorrect as has been shown by EPA4WD. This situation on the other hand is an error in their documents. However, once I hear from Toyota OR someone can bring one to our shop in North Ridgeville, OH for about an hour I can figure this out and correct it. There's gotta be someone in the area with one of these but no one has volunteered yet. It's not helping that we're having the worst weather of the season the past week.

Thanks for your patience. As far as I know, this is the only parameter/feature of the gauge that is not reading/working, and the gauge does a lot.

Thank you. I think the Toyota owners will see the value as well once they start using these.

Here's some pics of my Interceptor Gauge install...

Can't wait until Todd & Pat figure out the trans temp issue with the 05-06 Pre-Runners with automatic transmission & V-6 Engine

This is a great little piece of equipment!

If you have an 05-06 Pre-Runner or 2wd tacoma Please contact Todd forcefedjunkie about taking your truck to their shop in North East Ohio area

They can give you a discount on a gauge for your tacoma or maybe even a free gauge if you let them use your truck for an hour, but youl have to contact Todd about all the details

Nice installation. I was thinking that would be a great place for the gauge. Unfortunately the 4 wheel drive switch is there on 4x4 models.

The GB is still running, and will continue until we get the 2009+ trans temp as well as the 2005 and possible 2006 trans temp working correctly. 2004 and earlier are fine, as is 2007/2008. There are a lot of people waiting for this to be resolved before buying so it's only fair to extend it.

If interested contact me at sales@aeroforcetech.com. Thanks!

I've not pursued this any further. Call me lazy, but I dont want to spend the time managing the group buy, getting people to commit and pay up, etc. I'd be happy to give you the information I've collected though if you want to get it going.
