Doncha' know that aftermarket exhausts can let dust come back up the tailpipe into the engine?

They suck in dust between the engine firing pulses.

Ridiculousness aside, factory intakes and exhausts are pretty close to optimized on most vehicles nowadays if for no other reason than to bump up the EPA mpg ratings.

You may get a slight bump, but usually that is felt because it moves the power peak to somewhere else in the rev range.

About the only thing most systems add now is noise.

I've always used oiled K&N filters and haven't had an issue. Any issues you're seeing with oiled over dry filters

I'm just disappointed this wasn't a new thread entirely xD

Weight savings, sound and where it sits are also benefits, you get more power from high flow cats and if we have them, deleting the secondary ones

You cannot "look" at a 5 micron opening.

Guess I need to check mine. I'm running the AFE Pro Dry S. I have always cleaned it with water every 3 months...

I plan on getting their CAI with the air scoop anyway

If I was worried about what happened to one guy or say a small percentage, wouldn't mod in the first place, since there's always that unlucky person and the bad luck Brian's

Haters gonna hate this one! Got a modified TRDCAI...while I see plenty of dust in the engine bay...the intake tube and throttle body is as clean as the day it was new. How can that be with 25k on the ODO?

    Beautiful.

I can't answer that one, but as I've said above, not enough bad luck brian's and unlucky people to dissaude me

I don't get them for M04R P0WA, I get them since I like the sounds and throttle response, plus always do it anyway
