I just installed my intake. It sounds great... but only during heavy acceleration.

When driving normally, I never hear it.

My Saturn SL2 daily driver commuter car has one and it's noisy even when idling.

Is this the case with everybody else?

your saturn has a boxed filter intake?

BTW i have the same intake as you on my tacoma - the box and plastic everything seem to quiet it unless it's at full tilt, where it really resonates. take the top cover off and see if it sounds different, though the box then becomes more of a shield than anything. but i'm saying, just for sound comparison.

i won't try that because it was a bitch getting the holes to line up for my box top cover! once i got it on, i figured i won't take it off until i need to service the filter.

Barefootbandit. How much did you pay for the intake if you don't mind me asking? I'm assuming you got the stage 2 dry. I was quoted $330 from a local shop in eugene with "professional installation" (so it does not void my toyota warranty). Also have you noticed any improvement in gas mileage? I'm just kinda on the fence about purchasing one. Thanks

Its only loud when going up hills and getting on the freeway, or when I mash the pedal for the hell of it, and I like it that way.
