I finally bit the bullet and went with the full aftermarket CAI from AFE, including the front scoop that goes above the radiator.

    My results?

Its not gonna solve your issues with the missing lowend in this engine.

Man-o-man does it make the topend scream, though. I'm linking a video of the 0-60 uphill climb I did yesterday and after 3500 rpm it just pulls and howls. I've got a catback and AFE TBS right now, but I can't wait to delete the two cats with a URD y-pipe and see if I get any more gains from that.

Audio doesn't do it justice (Had to back off the throttle initially cus I got a little wheel spin):

what does this aftermarket CAI do that the stock CAI doesn't?

The missing low end is fixed with a tune.

Just more air. Larger diameter tubes and multiple intake points. Plus I was using an oiled filter before and wanted to move away from it due to other TW users complaints.

Looks sharp, and sounds good! Notice any change in gas mileage?

Too soon to tell, but I was romping on it during my morning commute and still got 17.9. Thats pretty good for rush hour on 265s for me.

Any high pitch whistling sounds coming from your intake?

I have the throttle body spacer too, so there is definitely some whistling around 75% throttle. I've pretty much gotten used to it.

I have the throttle body installed as well and was thinking about taking it off to just see if the whistling was coming from that. Did you take it off as well to see if that was what was causing the whistle?

I installed the throttle body first and got the whistle, then I installed the intake. I'd bet thats what you're hearing.

Finally took off the throttle body spacer from AFE. It was difficult considering how cold it was here but it was a success. No more high pitch whistle noise. I can actually hear the intake allot more now and it sounds great paired with my AFE exhaust.
