Don't listen to those fools who say there are increases and then they try to prove it with inapplicable Dyno sheets!

At least I got dyno sheets, 9/10 people on here will never put their truck on a dyno!

Bud, putting a truck is a dyno is not some sort of brag-worthy achievement. It is literally no different from commuting to work.

The dyno runs you've done show an excellent increase in power due to your headers. That was money well spent. They do not do anything to backup your claims of horsepower gains due to the CAI.

Unless you have FI, I don't feel intakes are worth it

I have had the TRD CAI(1st Version) on my truck since purchase 8-06, added the TRD cat back exhaust at about 6k on the truck. That delay was caused by shipping from TRD tech, mine was one of the first exhaust sold. I use my truck to escort oversize loads. One of the challenges escorting is going from behind a load ( say 14'wide, and 110'long) to a quarter of a mile in front quickly, when the road changes from 4 lanes to 2. Happens very often. The difference in performance from just the TRD CAI, to adding the TRD exhaust was incredible. The mid range acceleration from 50mph to 85mph was so much quicker. Fuel mileage stayed in the 16 to 20 range depending on speed. I now have 340+k on the truck, zero problems with either CAI or Exhaust. Never put the truck on a dyno. But the TRD stuff worked for me. The sound is great when you gas it, and mellow when you need to behave.

I enjoy my AFE intake. I have had it for 7k+ miles and have not had any problems out of it. I would not call it a CAI, but more of a flow enhancement. With the stock intake you could not really use 1500-2000rpm. The afe aids in this area making it more useful saving fuel. This all depends on driver and driving habits.

The only time this is loud is when you have the hole in the front unplugged and you are above 3500rpm. Close the plug and it is nice and few decibels quitter, not vibrating everything.

So I just figured out that the AFE is not carb compliant. I live in California, and I guess it's illegal here. Amazon will not ship it to me. Maybe I'll try direct. But I doubt I'll be getting it.

Does anyone have any info about it being carb compliant?

I like the TRD one I installed because I like the OEM fit and finish. I didn't buy for gains and didn't really feel any theres not a power mod available for this truck that would give enough gains for me to care about.

TRD parts don't void any warranty I believe...so no arguing with the dealer when the mechanic tries to tell you that your aftermarket CAI is directly related to whatever problem you are having.
