Hey guys, its getting close to Christmas time and I'm thinking about purchasing a new HU for my truck. I've been looking at the touchscreen Pioneer avic x930bt for some time now and just discovered they came out with an updated version, the avic x940bt. Its seems to be the top of the line for affordable navigation head units. I also like the controls such as volume on the side instead of trying to locate it on the touchscreen. I am not a huge audio person, so $600 seems like a very reasonable price for one of these.

My question is, does anyone have experience with either the x930bt or x940bt?

Also, if you are an audio expert, feel free to suggest anything you believe is better in that price range.

This looks like a very nice unit and I haven't seen much about it on TW

It ain't but a thang. Are you satisfied with it?? Also, how easy was the install?

But if you do get around to those pics, that'd be great:D

Great unit. I didn't use the backup camera since the truck came with it already. Easy installation. I was able to use the stock metal bracket with the metra kit.

I just ordered a jl amp :). I still think it sounds good without amp but its more a hobby thing. I will post pics on saturday since I just ordered a new phone today.

Will the x940bt work with an android phone. My wife has the galaxy III phone and wants to be able to control a HU with her Samsung.

Yes you can. I know that there was a problem with the x930bt connecting to iPhone 4's and Androids. They fixed that with the app radio in the x940bt. iPhones hook up through an auxiliary cord. Androids hook up through Bluetooth. This shows you how. Btw I love the interface of this HU

I have the X930bt in my 350z and it is a great unit. I did the parking brake bypass and hooked up a backup camera. I use my Iphone 5 on it daily. I just ordered the X940bt for my truck and it will be here tomorrow.

Yeah the Clarion looks nice! I'll have to do a bit more research on it. But I wouldn't be able to buy it today :( I'm trying to get rid of some subwoofers to get the cash for the radio.
