Anyone have an issue with aftermarket air filter and MPG? I’m going to obviously snag an oem and see if it improves. Just seems odd, other than a new radiator and flash awhile back, this is the only thing.

    Colder air temps?
Tires dropping a little air pressure due to lower temps?
    Winter blend gas?

IDK, just three things that come to mind.

It has been like this since June, even in warm temperature. Only 35000 miles on the truck itself.
Who knows. It’s odd, but also out of warranty now so lol

When you say "flash" are you talking about OV tune? or did you get that tsb reflash for the ecm shifting thing?

I got the tsb reflash for the shifting issue and saw my mpg drop like a rock.

TSB reflash. What did you do to fix it? That must be what it was then...

I think your best bet is to get ovtune, that should undo what toyota did and replace it with a much better tune that will bring back the mpg.

No experience with a Tacoma doing this but I did go through this with my 4Runner. I installed an AEM drop in filter in the factory air box and the MPGs instantly dropped. I never resolved the problem, I ended up going back to a new Toyota filter and the problem disappeared.
The factory air box with a clean factory filter flows more than the engine can consume, I recommend going back to the Toyota filter.

Yep, that's me. I'm running the latest "final" version of OVtune.
    Are you still in TN?
