I'm getting just about 17mgp. I usually cruise unless I have to get somewhere on time.
And I'm with Sean on that, I never really got great mileage stock. I only lost at most 1-1.5 mpgs after the lift and tires.

Mine dropped very slightly from the 19 - 20 range to about 16-17. Im guessing its going to drop again once I put the 285s under her.

this is good. everyone can see what others are doing. my truck was getting 336 on a tank
and at fill up ~18Gal US

    =18.66 repeating of course.
still have not had a full tank go through her where not doing 75-80 on the highway. 16.5 so i think i can squeeze 17 out of her. not bad for the v6 4x4 6speed.

keep up the feedback. but i do agree this truck is not for the mpgs.
diesel would rock and they have an option in the hilux inline click here

yall might be getting better MPG than you think....

bigger tires allow you to go a further distance on one turn of your tire, and your odometer doesnt know that you put bigger tires on.

    example:
If you switch from 265/65/17s to 285/70/17s, you travel and extra 7% farther per tire rotation.

    what you think- 350 miles/18 gallons = 19.4 mpgs
    what it really is- 350 miles*1.07= 374.5 miles/ 18 gallons= 20.8 mpg

someone correct me if i'm wrong.......

3" lift here with 285/70/17's, I'm getting at the most 250 kms per tank of gas, with city only driving.
So if I did the calculation right about 14 - 14.5 mpg. Not very good!

I add 4% (3.4% actually) to mine just to keep me out of the 14-15% range. For some reason 16 mpg just feels better.

This thread had me search the Yarias forums and checking my breakeven calculations to see if I should buy a second car.

Tacoma mpg + fun of driving Tacoma = Yarias mpg - regret of not driving Tacoma

do you have a short drive to work, before i lived only like 3 miles from work and the engine didnt warm up=13 mpg in the winter=14mpg in summer
now with a 10 mile drive and warming her up 16mpg..;)

true but we can find the best of both worlds right, we understand that the Tacoma wont get 30mpgs but 18 can be obtained relatively easy. (depending on gearing, tire size, your foot!,and most of all driving conditions-ie short drive to work-minus 10 degrees and no warm up.:)

PS if you got a v6 4x4 with a 3" lift and your getting 20+ mpgs your a liar. show me a pic of your truck and pic of trip meter, or better yet a video of it. I just cant believe it. if you are honestly saying you got it hell yeah! you the man

I am more likely to just question their math skills and methods.

I was just using those numbers as an example if you were referring to my post. I dont have a lift and tires yet ( :( ) but hopefully will soon... i think im going to wait until my stock tires are worn out first.

i noticed the drop is about 2-4 mpg.

coming from my previous truck that got 12 on a good day, i sure am enjoying my 20 mpgs though.... haha

edit: just realized a surpassed 100 posts. hell yeah!!

i thought so, i feel you man if you want a good lift look at the OME lift on toytec-neubs is the shit and he and the toytec guys can answer anything you need. mine was total with UCA's...1200 and you can put them together if you go to a meet with us guys. it drives nice and ride height is perfect. just waiting for the rear springs to settle so the rake will go away.

3 whole MPG from wind drag alone?

    i dont see how...

the flowmaster muffler and K&N intake/filter may have something to do with that?

    :notsure:

yah, the KM2s will dip it a lil more, but soooooooooooo worth it...

i have over 20,000 hard miles on my KM2s and they have held up better than any other tire i have tried/seen... next to the BFG ATs...
