After doing the lift and 35" tires, followed by re-gearing to 4.88 Front and Rear, the ABS and DSC lights come on - As Expected. I programmed my Hypertech Inline Speedo Calibration Unit, plugged it in, and No Changes. Speedo is still way under and lights remain. Clearly entered Old/New Tires as 31" and 35" and Old/New Diff as 3.91/4.88

Talked to Hypertech Tech Support, have since sent it back as they claim its likely a bad unit. I can only hope. Slim chance there, but we'll see once the replacement comes in about a week.

Writing to see if anyone else has Successfully used the Hypertech Inline Speedo Calibration unit - after going to larger tires and gears, etc.?

Just an FYI, to my knowledge doing any calibration will ruin the warranty. But that is only what my dealer said when I asked them about doing it for my wheels/tires. If you even care! Haha

Hmmm, funny thing. My dealer had the lift wheels and tires installed on mine, including the Hypertech!!

OP, I'm not convinced the Hypertech will correct the lights as the unit is in-line and only calculates the speedometer and odometer. I could be wrong but my research leads me to believe this. Have the guys in the 4.88 thread reported light issues?

The gears won’t affect your speedo. All you need to do is adjust for tire size.

You will also get a more accurate reading if you use the actual tire diameter instead of plugging in the tire sizes.

There is nothing to “reprogram” as the unit plugs into the back of the gauge cluster and is easily removeable.

Well, I had the lift and tires changed originally, then went back a few weeks later to do the re-gear. After the Lift and 31" to 35" tires, no lights. After I went back to complete the re-gearing, lights came on. I don't know enough to say what information is shared back and forth from the back of the instrument gauge cluster, so I'm logically following 'cause and affect' . In the Hypertech program, there is a place to indicate Old/New Tire size and also Old/New Diff Gear - so presumably that information is highly relevant.

Yes, @sear I do realize the speedo will be more accurate if I use actual tire size. eg. the 35" Nitto's are actually 34.75. No longer have the 265/75 r 16's, but I think I'm close enough here on the measurements to be in the ballpark. The tread is also going to change on those Nitto's as the tread wears down, but I'm not going to reprogram the unit every 10k miles to keep shaving .25 / .5" ... off over time. lol But again, yes you are correct.

??? not sure what your question is? your abs/dsc notification lights work properly, or they don't? or the hypertech does not work? if it is notification lights it is likely that the installers did not reconnect connection coupling(s) they unplugged when doing the regear.

The speedo isn't affected by the change in gears, in the Hypertech program leave it as the default setting.

Also, if you have a bunch of lights on your cluster, it means you may have mixed up the plugs, try switching them to see if it helps.

Question was if anyone has successfully used the Hypertech. Abs/DSC lights are on. Hypertech unit not working. Yes I tried changing the wiring around in all possible configurations.

Have not double checked the Abs wiring, but will. Unusual they would leave this dis-connected, but you never know. Also unusual to have a bad unit from Hypertech. Of course, swapping that out as mentioned previously.

@Sear - curious if you've used the Hypertech unit?

X2 on checking the ABS plug. They could have broke the ABS sensor during install.

Yes - sensor could be unplugged. Yes - sensor could be damaged. Thank you.

Sorry if I'm not being more clear, my fault here. I'm first asking if anyone has used successfully used the Hypertech and can confirm that the lights came on for them too (when changing tire size AND re-gearing) and then we're corrected (lights off/functioning correctly) once the calibrator was installed?

Yes I have it on my truck and it works fine, no issues/lights/etc.

Sounds like it is an issue with a sensor from the gear install.

Oh ok cool. Do you mind expanding a little here? What work did you do to your '16 TRD OR, did you have lights on, that were fixed by the hypertech? etc. TY

Either the Hypertech unit works or it doesn't. If you mix up the plugs you will get all kinds of crazy lights on your cluster, not just the ABS/DSC like you have. When installed and functioning correctly, all it does is correct the speedo/odo, you won't get any lights or the like.

Like others are saying, it sounds like you have an issue with an ABS sensor not the Hypertech unit..

Did you increase your tire size AND do a re-gear? The lights didn't come on until after my re-gear.

You lost me here.... How could changing gears not have any affect on the speedometer? Does the computer get speed from wheel speed sensors? Or is it in the transmission like normal?

From my understanding the ABS sensors provide the data to the computer
