Know what I hate? The key fob - the unlock button should be on the BOTTOM, not the top. I kid. But there are some pretty annoying things about the truck that one would think some simple updates would fix.

    The mudflaps obviously.
Put some extending mirrors on it for towing for crying out loud. How hard is it to do after 8 years of production?
The auto door locks - on the driver side the unlock is on the doorpanel side, the passenger side it's on the interior side. How hard is it to make them match?
Make the windows on the access cab vented.
Make the opening on the rear slider bigger so fat kids and big dogs can fit through it.
The rear step bumper - make it one or two inches deeper so I can rest a 12-pack on it or, you know, put my foot on it securely.
Tailgate lock? Hello? Eight years of production and they can't put a TAILGATE LOCK on the truck?
Seatbelt chime. It has to beep 56 times (I counted)? Really? 4-5 chimes isn't good enough? Had to set the industry standard there, or what?
Radio dial backlighting. Again, how hard is it to make the radio dial visible during daylight?
    Lighted 4WD switch? No, we don't need it? OK . . . .
    More ergonomic/adjustable seats? No, we don't need them? OK . . . .
4Runner dual-VVTi motor? Can't do it? Can't throw us dogs a bone on that one?

    ;) Alright, carry on . . . . .

    Well, I'm seeing 17/21 for the 4runner 4.0 4WD and 16/21 for the Tacoma 4WD. https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Toyota2014.shtml

And the 4runner is 4400 lbs curb weight, the Taco 4055 lbs for the access cab, maybe 4155 for the double cab . . . .

I'd like to have the extra beans myself. It just seems like the Taco gets the worst of everything Toyota puts out. It has to be a cash cow for them, but they can't throw us a bone here and there.

Now, they were good enough to put a cabin air filter on it, bless their souls.

    And before anybody says go buy a F150 - F you. :D

I've also noticed an the coldest days (Actual temps 5 or below, real feel temps as low as -10) when I sit down in my passenger seat I hear a loud creak from under the truck, haven't been able to figure out the sound because it won't do it any other way where i'm in a position to see or hear more directly. I only weigh 180 lbs but it sure does make me feel fat.[/QUOTE]

HAHA this cracked me up...im 240 and i get the same creak. Makes me feel better :D

Would love to if I had $5000 of someone else's money to spend on it. :D And from what I've read your gas mileage decreases with that wonderful little devil on the motor.

Now, I would like to see some comparisons from people that tow if the SC helps the fuel mileage there. One would think so since you wouldn't be on the throttle so much, maybe at some point towing a lot the fuel savings would recoup the investment in the SC . . . .

No offense meant, but if it was PBR that's prolly what I'd use it for. Or maybe after mowing the lawn and setting up the croquet field I could use the PBR can for a mallet in a pinch . . . .;)

Whew, looking at my post count, I'm glad this was only my 999th post. Didn't waste the landmark #1000 on a PBR post . . . .:D

    x2..

13 years after college graduation and my beer tastes have not changed. I never wanted to be "that guy" who would only drink an IPA or MicroBrew. So I forced myself to continue liking the cheep stuff. Now I don't know what I am missing and don't really care to know. The fanciest I go with beer is Yuengling. If im in the mood for a meal Ill drink Guiness. But for everday around the house give me a cheap beer and I am a happy man.

Funny PBR story, sort of I guess, depends on your point of view I suppose.

When I was in the US Army many moons ago in West Germany there were vending machines in every barracks dayrooms. In those vending machines was Pepsi, CocaCola, and PBR.

Really? This canned beer PBR is what Uncle Sam ships all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, offloads in England, then ships to West Germany?

It was kind of them to do so, and I'm sure they meant well and all that, but c'mon now.

Also, on the Armed Forces TV network they had this show every single day called "Sew What's New". I kid you not, I swear this is true, the host of the show was a Liberace kind of guy, he was a transvestite for christ's sake.

He would sit there at his sewing machine like Liberace at his piano in his women's clothes and women's jewelry and educate the US Armed Forces about how to sew women's clothes.

Now, he was a master at his craft and again I'm sure Uncle Sam meant well, but jeez man . . . .

I'm looking at the 4runner and I see other little things we get shortchanged on. A pocket behind each front bucket for little things you can store securely. Heated mirrors, turn signal in mirror, rear disc brakes.

Tacoma gets the bottom tier of everything. We're like the old dog that they don't pay attention to anymore, they have new pups to lavish attention on. . . .

Haha... My PBR stories don't end with transvestites. All I can say is that escalated quickly. Did wind up in a gay bar in a foreign country. (Don't think I was drinking PBR) Long story short. Had no idea. Decided to back to that realy cool bar from last night the next day. And what a surprise when we figured it out!
