I looked for a while and checked out many different models but finally decided on a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport DC 4x4 with tech package and manual trans in Quicksand. I went with a fully loaded truck and got the optional all weather mats, D-rings, mud guards, and even the exhaust tip because it was already installed even though I'm not so hot on it.

Here are the first pics. I test drove it on Monday, bought it on the phone tonight, and pick it up on Thursday. She has 8 miles on her.

    Beautiful truck!
In Canada they do not offer the double cab with a manual transmission in quicksand. :annoyed:

    Edited to add manual transmission

I hate how certain things are offered in certain places and not others.

Personally I would have loved a dark green like they used to have....but not offered.

I knew I wanted a manual trans and that was my starting point. I wasn't sure on TRD Pro, TRD OR, or TRD Sport and I was insistent on driving all three before making up my mind. I didn't want to buy a TRD Sport when I only drove the OR or vice versa and manual trans is hard to find in So Cal. Then honestly, it came down to color. BBP, Quicksand, or Inferno

You will like the exhaust tip. You will hate the all weather mats.

    Congrats on a sweet truck!

Nice truck, mine is the same except AT. I decided after 10 years of rowing gears in my DD, i'm 25 got the license in a stick and most of my time holding a permit was manual, I would go to an auto..

Given the parents got autos just I never had one. Lol

    Ok kool. I
I'm negotiating with one dealer. Going to involve a second tomorrow and maybe a third if they don't co-operate without anoying me too badly.
You are correct, it's an automatic. I guess I failed to mention that they don't offer the double cab quicksand with a 6 speed manual transmission.

Nice rig OP. Enjoy and try not to develop new buyers anxiety by listening to half the folks on here talking about what a P.O.S. the 3rd Gen is. They are GREAT trucks. New gen has it's bugs but most are being addressed by Toyota through TSB's. Overall GREAT truck.
