    I did notice that, lol. THe 4 banger also has a lot of room under the hood. It's almost like it's asking to be turbo'd. But we'll cross that road once we're out of warranty.

    For all you reactive people out here that clearly are not proactive a CB is not just for off-roading or trucking. If something ever goes down in our communication systems. CB's will be the only forms of communication whether it's a power outage EMP or homeland war . You people need to think beyond the end of your noses and be prepared to not be a victim .( Bring on the haters. Because you'll be the one's standing around with your dicks in your hands while the rest of us Will be ready for when the shit goes down )

    Why did you have to go mention through 4 banger? Now people will start the "it's not worth it" debate.

    I was actually considering getting my ham license. Worst case scenario you dont use it, best case scenario you call for help when stranded out in the middle of no where.

    I was a little hesitant judging from how turboing 2TR-FE threads go, but fuck those people. It's all about what you enjoy, and sometimes whats fun doesn't make sense to someone else. Anything could be argued to not be worth it, after all one day the sun is going to eat up the earth and many years after that energy in the universe will be so homogeneous that particles wont exist.

    I can come up with two places right off the top of my head. There is lots of options none of you will like. CB's are just not a pretty sight so if you want one just install it already. Second your saying you only payed 24k for a 2016.I apologize you most of bought a different truck then I was thinking. So what model do you have? 2 wheel drive base.

    This is all rendered moot by the fact that the owner would ever even let Nickelback be heard in the vicinity of his truck, let alone coming from inside. How nauseating.

    They are all going to have the same interior space, cubby/compartment wise in the front, which is where op wants it.

    Ham radio operator here and I plan on putting a two-way in my 2016 Tacoma. Probably a Yaesu FT-8900R with detachable face.
    Fortunately, my son-in-law is an aircraft avionics technician and he has promised to do a professional install. I'll share pics when it's done but it will be a while.

    I got the 2 piece from cobra. Mounted the guts behind the dash out of sight and just plug in the mic.

    I used to use CBs years ago, and they are great to have in emergencies and/or for communicating on trips with other cars etc. You are right there is NOT a lot of places to mount anything, but unlike the late 70s technology has really changed. There are a lot of cool options for really small CB radios. You can get one that has all the channels in the MIC and you can mount the unit under the seat or you can get a windshield mount that can hold the unit. I may consider this as I don't need my GARMIN GPS anymore as the New Taco has all of that built in.

    Anyways, just some ideas;

    I've been considering that cobra c75 you posted. Seems like it will be the most ideal option. The only reason I kind of lean away from it is that about a year ago I bought a LT125 that I had peaked and tuned. The 125 sounds great and I was really happy with the performance in my previous truck. But I guess we'll have to see. Right now my focus i getting the taco lifted and offroad capable. I'll tackle the CB in a couple months with more serious ideas. If I come up with anything worthy I'll post on here.

    I've got the C75. Had it tuned and no issues. Nice and clean and when I'm not using it just unplug the mic
