I was hoping that someone could tell me that they have installed some brand of after market, 100% bolt-on side steps, nerf bars or rock sliders, and the hole alignment on the frame is unchanged from Gen 2.

I know that the short answer is Yes, nothing's changed, but I'd like to hear of someone's personal experience, proving that the available holes in the frame have not changed. Not interested in bars that attach to the pinch weld, or bars that require welding or drilling.

    Thanks..................... Frank

Don't know for sure but it looks like it is all the same. Toyota would be stupid to make a change in something like that from one year to the next. It would mean they would need to stock a new item. Plus, they would then have to toss the old accessories that never sold with the 2015's.

The way to truly know is to check out the part# for the 5" black tube steps for example. See if it is the same # as the 2015.

I crawled under a 2016 Sport this afternoon and took a look at how the tube step was bolted to the truck. Seemed like it was so easy, the only thing you needed to concern yourself with was scratching it during installation.

    Thank-you Eric.

I appreciate your astute comments, and I agree with them all. Still, I am considering buying a set of sliders, then prepping, priming and painting them, BEFORE I even receive my truck. I'd feel more confident doing all this if SOMEONE actually has already done so.

BAMF, a vendor here, said his bolt on sliders need to be slightly modified to fit a 2016.

Eric-Sliders are heavy duty steps that are usually welded to the frame, some bolt on. They allow a truck to slide over obstacles (usually rocks) and protect the rocker panels.

Actually, I WAS thinking of the BAMF sliders, and I read their recent comment about a slight difference between 2015 and 2016.

Guess I'll have to wait and see what develops.

Thanks for the help guys................. Frank

He hasn't seen one yet. I suspect there may be some minor changes with how much bracket he has on his design. I got in line for a set as soon as he finds out.

Why would that be stupid? That's generally what happens when you release an all new generation...
