Out for dinner the other night and the bartender comes to the dining room asking who drives a Tacoma... (not a good sign ) "someone backed in to your truck" she says...

Of course the d-bag fled and even though some other patrons tried to follow him they lost him. We have a general idea of who, where he lives etc. but since it was on private property not much the police can/are willing to do - although they are going to try and talk to him one more time this week.

So... what to do - the bumper is definitely dented and bent up and top plastic broken off. There does not appear to be any impingement into the bed or body.

If I go through my insurance company I have to pony up the deductible and may never get it back. Starting to think of just spending the $ for an aftermarket that isn't too extreme...

    Suggestions?

Looking at Body Armor 4x4 TC-2961. Any pros or cons?

    TIA

Tons of great looking bumpers out there. I like the AllPro APEX Series front bumper.

I got lightly "tapped" by a F150 earlier this year that totaled my weak rear bumper as you have experienced yourself. The driver did not give me enough $$ to cover for an all pro bumper so I opted for a Body Armor rear with some leftover $$. I am not a fan of Body Armor products but their rear bumper looks good with being able to retain the factory tow package the biggest selling point for me, unlike some others.
Actually quite happy with the bumper. Install was easy without issues and it's a tank at roughly 100-110lbs. You do need to buy some license plate lights which I bought some LED license plate lights.

How much did that Body Armor rear bumper cost you?

I believe it was a tad below $400 through Amazon.

So is Body Armor the only one that allows me to keep my factory tow hitch?

Went with the BodyArmor based on price, free shipping from Amazon and could not really find any negatives. Easy install.

I know this post is from a lifetime ago but I just picked up one of these bumpers second hand. Just curious if you remember what license plate lights you got...?

I bought the led license plate light at auto zone and tapped the power into the factory license plate light.

Does anyone know if you can add a swing-out spare to the Body Armor?
