    What’s the weight again?

On my old civic I shoved lead pellets down into the knob to compress and get it orientated.

Any thoughts on one or two set screws on the side of the collar?

Lastly I think my only issues is the knob being cold or hot depending on the weather.

    The look awesome!

288g was the weight of the original aluminum version, I figure they will remain within 10 grams of each other.

Set screws would work wonderfully, but that feature will have to go on the knob itself ... which to me would ruin the aesthetic of it. Plus, this would add another machining operation (there are already 4 operations, 5 for engraving). If my lathe had milling functions, it could be done on the first operation with ease ... but unfortunately it is only a basic 2 axis CNC lathe.

Looks good. Did you end up using a shim to get it lined up? If so, what did you use?

I used a chunk of plastic hose scrap from work, just jammed er up there and gave me the compression to tighten to the correct orientation.

We've had 2 fitment issues already, driver's side lug.

If everyone can provide a picture of theirs(stock knob) in this thread, that would be awesome.

I'm starting to think the chrome collars were poorly trimmed from their mold cards, which would damage the soft plastic on the knob straight from the factory, but I'm not certain of it yet. Need more input!

Easy fix.. I used a dremmel and shaved down like the factory plastic lug. Wish I would've done that before I tried the boot connector... wondering if the OR models have different lugs

If they have different lugs, I'd be reeeally surprised.

The lug that faces the 6 o'clock position when mounted is the most damaged on my stock knob. If anything I figured it would be that one giving me an issue.

Both the knob and the boot slot on the driver side appear to have a slight taper. Maybe a difference between OR and SR?

Another pic of the knob. Definitely seems to be molded that way. Seems easy to overcome by clearing some plastic on the boot ring.

Are you able to measure the flat area between the top of the slot and the beginning of the taper?
The lug thickness on my stock knob is .155", or roughly 5/32".

I had that taper in my boot collar as well, but it's quite worn down at this point.

I don't have the means to get the precision measurement you're probably looking for, but the flat area on the knob is about a 1/16" before it starts to taper.

Also, on the ring you can see that there is a slight ramp at the beginning of the slot at the top. IMG_20180210_120324395.jpg

If your having issues, to fix it I used a dremmel with cylinder shaped sandpaper to take it to a taper to get to close match. Worked out great

Perfect, I think that is plenty close enough. I can approximate the angle from your pictures as well.

Future orders, if they have the same tapered lug ... I can just put it back up on the indexer and make a cut before shipping.
