Same here, 3 RAMS the last 15 yrs, new Taco in Feb, couldn't be happier... maybe once in awhile I miss the Hemi.

OP, do what's best for your family. Take both for a spin with the car seats & family see which is better for you & the Mrs.

Don't ask a bunch of knuckleheads like myself for opinions, you'll be more undecided than when ya started. lol

    Agreed!

We ran all with the car seats. Taco was doable but not nearly as roomy as full sized.

I never considered any other truck I brought my first taco brand new a 06 sport and never had any major problems with it. It was a very dependable truck but I needed something new due to the fact I travel up and down the east coast a lot. I put 240,000 miles on my 06 and figured she would not last much longer with all of the traveling I do I decided to just pull the plug and get me a 2017 OR. I have had it a week and a half and just put in 1000 miles Well so far so good

Both are good trucks. Both are good at the same things, and both are good at different things. Like someone else said, have an honest look at what you do every single time you get in it, and base your decision off that.

The Tacoma will be quicker to wash/wax and will use less oil. It is easier to park and more nimble. It is also surprisingly plush and quiet inside. However, the F150 will outclass it in terms of power, refinement, options, interior space (more to clean) and exterior surface area (more to wash and wax).

If money was unlimited, I could see a case for having both. Something about an F-150 looks better doing American things like picking up lumber or parking at Home Deopt, or in a tilled wheat field on a pheasant hunt. The Tacoma looks great in the wilderness and when parallel parked...for some reason.

OP, I have 15,000 miles on mine. Only issue was the tranny constantly shifting and only 16mpg. The TSB has really improved shifting and fuel mileage is up to 18/19 mpg.

No other problems at all, and I am super happy with the Taco.

The Taco cab is small. A trip to Costco overwhelms the back seat area with groceries.

If cab size is important along with car seats then "I" would definitely consider the F150. I strongly considered a Raptor before the Taco, but 12mpg was ridiculous.

The 2grfks in the 16+ will likely be the most reliable motor ever made by Toyota. The 2grfse is one of their best ever and this is the same engine but with more advanced cleaning cycles and reduced cylinder compression in low load scenarios. Toyota thinks so too, as they are switching to this engine in most all of their 3.5 liter vehicles.

And mine hasn't blinked after 15k miles, no vibes, no failures, just have the howling whistle vortex from the new rear driveline.

I have 2 car seats and a booster in the back of my Tacoma. It's definitely tight. One big problem is that the seatbelt latches are floppy so they have 0 resistance when you push on them. This means that if you are buckling a seatbelt for a booster, you either need to get both hands in between the car seat and booster, or use something like a pool noodle to give the bottom latch some resistance and ability to stand up on its own. I can't wait until the kids are all in slimmer booster seats.

I have my 16' Taco and love it. I've had my own fair share of issues....but I always have my F-150 as back up ;)
