This is the picture the dealer sent when it rolled off the truck but I picked it up today. 2.5 hours there, almost a full 4 hours home due to construction, accidents, traffic, etc. but I got it home safe and sound.

All through Covid the Chicago-land district manager refused to assist the dealers in getting me what I wanted and only offered what the local dealers get from Toyota. After Covid, same story. When the 2024 was announced I decided to call every district manager in the country until I found one who would help me. Enter Cincinnati district manager who personally worked with the GM at Signature Toyota in Benton Harbor, MI and 3 months later I got the exact truck with the color, options (nothing more or less), in the trim I wanted.

Not my first Toyota, but is my first Tacoma. So far I'm thrilled with how it drives and hoping to get hundreds of thousands of miles on it.

Tough looking truck! I can’t remember ever liking a vehicle more than my Tacoma. Planning any changes?

I wouldn't say I have any significant changes planned but ordered a ton of parts from the parts department to fix some things that fellow TW users already figured out. I've got a lot to do before winter (install tailgate lock, cosmoline the frame, replace the coilover bolts (with 4runner bolts), and some other odds and ends. I installed the factory mud flaps before I left the dealer. :) Once winter is over I'll tear out the interior and use sound deadener in the doors, floors, back wall, etc and replace the door speakers. But for right now I'm just enjoying it. I like this truck more than I thought I would.

In case anybody is curious, I *ALWAYS* choose grey for vehicle colors now. Less speeding tickets. Cops ALWAYS notice red, yellow, orange, etc. colors but unless they are clocking you, they won't give you a second look if you're not driving like an idiot.
