Hi all, I ordered some 16x8 allied daytonas last week and they don't fit over my calipers. I was wondering if anyone knew why they wouldn't fit because the sr5's come stock with 16s. Any help is much appreciated thanks!

That's why the wheel won't fit over the caliper?

There's a lot of 16" wheels that wont fit over the calipers. Inner diameter of wheel can be too small or the offset of the wheel may bring the sides of the wheel too close to the caliper.

Wyatt, are the tires mounted to the new wheels? If so, are the wheel weights the tape on kind on the"inside" of the wheel? Do your back wheels go on just fine? I had the same issue with my American Racing wheels with the "tape on inside" wheel weights. You might check that first.

Those are stock wheels. And we didn't use tape weights. Yes they fit on the rear just fine. I've ran 15's on the rear before

they fit on the rear because the trucks have drum brakes. they don't fit on the front because of the calipers. make sure when buying wheels for a taco that they are designed to fit a taco, and even then you may get a miss - my first rim for my spare would not clear the calipers, so it was sent back for a different one which did.

30mm is the factory offset for the 16" wheel

So a 16x8 with 30mm of offset would most likely work?

I had the same issue with my Methods, but a small spacer and extended thread lugs fixed the issue. I don't do any super crazy crawling, but some people might be against this recommendation depending on your use.

Not necessarily. The inside diameter of the wheel is important. If its too small, then it wont fit over the caliper. You need to find wheels that are specifically going to fit the Tacoma if youre going for 16".
