Does anyone know if an aftermarket air intake is possible on the new engine? I don't know enough about the Atkinson Cycle to say whether or not I'll be able to put a K&N on it. I'm mostly interested in the great throaty sound it produced in my 2010 Gen2.

I do want it for the sound but if there is a better aftermarket option, please advise!

When afe gets a cold air intake, or URD that would be your best bets

    I don't like dust in my engine. I don't want the K&N.

I would like a CAI for the engine, though

I'm not convinced on cai's I'll probably get my ass kicked for posting this but I can't see why you'd spend $$$ on such minimal gains.

Why bother thinking about a CAI before having tested the stock intake? Some aren't too bad. Most of the aftermarket are just made to get people to spend their hard earned dollars on something that might net them an an extra .5hp.

Sometimes you have to sign up for a forum when you see comments that just make you cringe..

People with zero experience with CAIs in general are normally the ones who bash them. Every car Ive owned from performance (corvette, mustang, Z, lambo) to truck has had some form of CAI, whether stand alone or FI. All have made a difference in drive-ability and power. Could care less about dyno numbers (all corvette and mustang guys talk about) because I dont drive on rollers with a fan blowing on my truck! If your vehicle drives smoother throughout the curve, kills that annoying hesitation from 2-3 or 3-4 gear and sounds better, why not do it? 15 years of experience with them...with my father being employed by Ford Racing back in the day.

This is my first Japanese truck and its safe to say the aftermarket performance part pool is tiny compared to Chevy. Nothing for the 2016 V6 yet and I mean ZIP!

AFE is coming out with its performance CAI on July 31st, 2016. They are taking pre-orders on Amazon and AFEs site - aFe Power 51-76005 Momentum GT Air Intake System

CAIs are silly, thats why most people put the most restrictive intake possible on a FI system... (Im laughing inside). CARS/TRUCKS in general are a waste of money if you want to go there! :D

The TRD intakes for the 5.7 and 4.0 are just there to take my money!?! They are doing a great job of getting it and I'll give them more for the 3.5 intake once available. Come and get it Toyota!

Heck yea! Any idea when the TRD CAI will be available? Obviously because they are new the AFE version is a punishing $425 on Amazon.
